Lush – Split 2023 Reissue Clear Wax – VINYL UNBOXING
This year, 4AD remastered and reissued the three LPs by 90s shoegaze band Lush. Today, I’m sharing a very brief history of the band, talking about the assorted vinyl variants available on their sophomore album “Split,” and unboxing my copy on vinyl, which is the 2023 reissue on clear wax. Part unboxing and part art critique, I dig into what makes 4AD artwork so great from the late 1980s to mid 1990s.

there is also a pre-order (sold out) for a Bandbox Exclusive Yellow Vinyl (limited to 500 copies) that should be shipping out really soon. my fav lush album is Spooky their most shoegaze oriented album, by the time they got to the Love Life album it was more of a Britpop sound which i wasn't a really big fan of but the album was still a enjoyable listen.

Still love this band, ever since I picked up my original copy of Gala. Split was my favorite of their 3 proper albums.

Spooky is my favorite, one of my Top 5 albums of all time. I have been trying to collect as many variants of Spooky as possible (that my bank account will allow). That being said, Split is a really close 2nd. Desire Lines is one of my favorite Lush songs. Great video! – Mike

Split is my favorite of the three. It’s a complete song cycle well-sequenced. Every song is essential. And Desire Lines is possible the best dream pop song ever recorded. It is equal to Loveless and Bardo Pond’s “Amanita” as one of the greatest psychedelic pop albums of all time.
