I've watched several interviews past few weeks with LL. I have a new profound RESPECT for him. He is very humble and wise. You can tell he didn't want to gloat about the situation but spoke of the trauma a situation like that put you through emotionally.

I had a home invasion a few years back. I had a baby and my family in the house. LL is right, it’s terrifying. I won, but it’s terrifying. The animal in me came out. I have been very alert even 7 years later.

I saw LL on the FORCE tour a few years ago. First time I'd ever seen him live.

Two things I recall being shocked at, is how massive he actually is. 6'2 doesn't really tell the tale, and it doesn't really translate on screen. Bro is a tank. And, second… how he was in amazing shape, literally pulling off 2 sets without out so much as a "let me take a moment to breathe".

And this was a decade ago. Buddy probably could have been sent on a stairway to heaven (or a highway to hell) if L wanted.

My bar used be broken into. It happened a few times. I hid in the darkness, waiting for them one night, with a makeshift spear. Luckely, I never used it, or put my self in that situation. It was a couple of men. A small one, that looked the dangerous one, and a bigger one, that was kind of just rolling his bike. I walked out with a flashlight, and asked them what they did in the aera. Im sure it was them that had been there before. I called the police shortly after that… Ive never seen the police show up that fast. They had even brought dogs. And they searched a wide area, but never found anything. But the breakins stopped. I asked myself later: why the hell did i put myself in that situation.

I’m ready and have trained for an altercation just like this. However, when I speak about it and/or think about it I tell people or myself, I would be visibly upset after and would not like the trauma that ensued thereafter.
It would be the worst… but, I’d be ready and willing to take the challenge to protect my girls and my family. 🫡🇺🇸

That conscious avoidance of glorification of violence itself or the cost to one's soul, is peak virtuous masculinity. The need for survival separated detangled from want of violence.

Had numerous home invasion attempts at our various apartments over the years. As he says, it's absolutely horrible. The first one was the worst for us, it hardens you a bit but also makes you incredibly wary. I couldn't sleep properly for years after, every noise I heard I was up looking out the windows. It didn't help that it happened multiple times. It's very hard to feel safe in your own home after that.

They should throw the full weight of the law at anyone who invades somebody else's home. It's one of the sickest and most invasive things you can do. It should not be trivialised or treated the same as petty theft. It's so much worse. It's evil.
