very intresting video but what i would have liked to hear mentioned is the communities that are more grounded to their indigenous roots and culture in mexico and how they are terrorized and persecuted by the cartels and how that all ties in to "mexico's drug trade", does anyone know if Oswaldo's book mentions this?

You did a good job of pointing out early in this podcast, a lack of respect and appreciation for President Trump. You can look at things with your own opinions & that's fine but I'm disappointed as someone that dearly loves Mexicanos and the Mexican culture.

Sorry to say but Noem is correct about Indian Tribes, I live by the border and during the Biden adm. Illegals would cross by the bunches thru Cocopah land. The war on drugs is a political tool to oppress minorities. The internal memos of the Nixon administration show that it was a political strategy to undermine the antiwar activism of American leftists. The Iran Contra scandal showed us that the CIA deals drugs to purchase weapons to sell to corporate mercenaries… to commit genocide against the indigenous of Central and South America. We know that after the US special forces trained Mexican armed forces to crack down on the drug trade in Mexico, the trainees just replaced the producers and dealers. Rich Republican elites in the US don't want to stop the flow of drugs. They want the drugs to come in so they can use them as an excuse to persecute poor neighborhoods and people, usually minorities who are exiled into the underground economy because they are excluded from the dominant economy.

The right wing in the US are the descendents of the unapologetic genociders of North America. They hate Liberation Ideology, socialism, and any cultural heritage that supports collective action, tolerance, and group support.

The CIA has actually sculpted the cartels through the narrative – as they lent organization and communication, branding and publicity to Al Qaeda and ISIS and as US political interference prevented Mexico from rectifying the economic, educational and cultural conditions within the country which lead to criminal activity and corruption and prevent the rule of law from prevailing or even a national identity from emerging.

Further, as the events of last week illustrate, the CIA and state department and the President have enlisted the "cartels" and dozens of NGOs in their years-long plan to destabilize Morena in particular.

It is no coincidence that the CIA suddenly chose to "share" intelligence immediately following the shipment of Mexican aid to Cuba and Mexico's offer to support humanitarian flights from other nations (while falling short of actually sending oil because it realistically can't anyway). Had CDMX failed to act, it would leave itself vulnerable to accusations of protecting the cartels which are "killing Americans."

It's no accident that "the cartels" mounted coordinated actions in 20 states complete with fake videos and a publicity campaign echoing Trump talking points, which was immediately amplified by the right-wing press. Or that they chose the Trans-Oceanic Corridor for their only actions in Oaxaca – which is actually a useful transportation asset for cartels or anyone else interested in smuggling and illicit trade. Why would they do that? Why would they do any of it?

These are secretive organizations. It's basically their whole gig. Their superpower. Why would they suddenly break that code and advertise their presence? They did everything but wear T-shirts with their name and address on them.

These were actions at least a year in planning, actively coordinated by the CIA and implemented by "assets" it has cultivated inside the country at least since AMLO was elected and, realistically? For almost two centuries.

Sure, Mexico and Mexicans themselves aren't blameless, but this was a CIA psyop from start to, well, I'd like to say finish, but it isn't over.

Using the escalation of violence to justify criminalizing minorities is the first step of many. I believe, justifiably, that the fascist powers will seek to enslave all peoples.
