Honestly, I think people are overhyping these weird facts. Most of them don't make the show any better or worse. The series is still a timeless classic no matter what.

When they blew up the buildings you can clearly see full sheets of plywood flying in the air. Plywood was not used in homes until the 1940s and 1950s.

This will always be "Little House in the Big Woods" to those who read the series, long before Michael Landon took it over with his purple hair.
It's a fun TV series, but it's not Little House in the Big Woods/Prairie series.

I loved the books but never cared for this show at all. It felt to me like it had little to do with the actual story told in the books. And Michael Landon was never Pa for me.

I thought having “Col Sanders” in the “…….Future” episode was just to show what franchises would become “in the future” and using Sanders would be the most recognizable, even tho he wasn’t even born yet But I guess it worked both ways. Behind the scenes as well as its episode intention 😂

Michael Landon is one of the great examples of how separate (and stratified) TV and movies were in those days. He did one massive series after another for his entire career, yet never had much of a silver screen filmography. Even as recently as the 1980s and 1990s, actors felt they had to leave TV if they wanted to appear in movies, resulting in the departures of Shelley Long, George Clooney and David Caruso at their peaks in their respective series. I also remember it being a big deal when Mary Tyler Moore did Ordinary People (and crushed it) since to that point, we only knew her as a TV sitcom staple.
But in this era? They were two different worlds, and Landon either never got a chance to make movies, or opted out of them.

There were two sets of twins on the show. Wendi and Brenda Turnbaugh played Grace Ingalls in 60 episodes (1978-82). Michael Landon's own daughter played Etta Plum in 20 episodes (1975-83). Jason Bateman was James in 21 episodes (1981-82). I had heard that Melissa Gilbert and Allison Arngrim were actually friends off camera. Tommy Bond who was Butch in "The Little Rascals" said that he and Alfalfa were friends away from the camera. Nancy (Allison Balson) was even more of a spoiled brat than Nellie ever was.
