I don’t use social media, but I wrote this joke for Neal.
I grew up in a very white area—I probably met like 3 black kids before I went to college. Civil war border state, rural town, very racist. But I was super into jazz as a kid, and I know weird little tidbits about some early jazz musicians… which is undeniably black history. It puts me in a weird spot when I meet a black person because I feel like I have something in common with them, but I have absolutely no connection to modern black culture, so there can be some missed social signals. The best scenario I can usually hope for is that they see me like Neal Brennan… which is to say, they can tell that I’m way too desensitized to the n-word, but I do also perceive them as a fully complex human being, so… Meh.

Hey Neal, I think I first learned about from Marc Maron's podcast a while ago and had no idea you had one of your own. Just discovered it and am so glad I found it. Love how you talk about this kind of stuff with your guests, looking forward checking more of the past and future episodes,

I'm curious why white comedians with podcasts nvite the same black comedians. Is there a black comedian list? Like Deon Cole,Mike Epps,Deray Davis, Sommore,Tony Baker, Greer Barnes, Robin Thede, Naim Lynn,Ziwe,Spank Horton, Had Grady, Ron Haze,Gabrielle Dennie👌, Sydney Castillo,Ryan Davis. Here's a list of help. I'm surprised Neal does the same. Those are good, but we seen them multiple times on other white podcast.
