LEMON DROP | The Economy, the Polls & Voting Rights Fallout!

Don Lemon | May 10, 2026

Another chaotic week is in the books, and the stakes just keep getting higher.
From growing economic anxiety and rising costs to new polling showing increasing concerns about Donald Trump’s mental fitness for the presidency, Americans are asking serious questions about where the country is headed.
Meanwhile, the fallout from the Supreme Court’s gutting of the Voting Rights Act is already playing out in Tennessee, where Republicans pushed forward a redistricting plan to dismantle the state’s only majority-Black district. And Tennessee is just the beginning. Similar fights are emerging across the country, raising alarms about representation, voting rights, and what the midterms could look like moving forward.

This is not a civil rights issue. This is a tax issue. Large cities are being carved up and represented by people who live 200 miles away. How does that make sense? People in the city on average pay 25% more tax than people in rural areas and they have very different needs, but they being deprived of representation and discriminated against because of their politics? The Supreme court claimed that impact doesn't matter, but impact should matter because the whole point to congressional districting is to provide "the people" with representation, not political parties. I don't understand how this is constitutional.

It is very clear that the president is in an alternate universe. He doesn’t care about the American people. But the lies are being pushed out as true. Still the gas prices are almost double in some states, groceries prices are increasing, mortgages prices have increased. Meanwhile paychecks are not stretching as far and the president wants to spend a billion dollars to build a ballroom with a bunker on the American taxpayers.

I don’t like Hegseth’s increasingly rotten attitude – my guess is he thinks this is toughness when it’s really immaturity & rudeness. This guy won’t make it 20 minutes in prison.

It's weird how the 'Divided State of Dollars' continues to have a strong anti-progress movement for such a rich country – No bullet trains, unaffordable housing from hell, with car dependent sprawl, no good EVs, no strong labor, and a corrupt electoral/governmental system that borders on apartheid…

7:42 at this point I don't think it's nuclear weapons I think it's a fear that if Iran gets a nuclear reactor they might stop selling oil and trump has investments in oil. Looks how much he hates renewables

A person acting like a demon can pass a cognitive test. The real test comes in the form of whether or not a person has empathy for others, and whether he or she can govern the UNITED STATES of America, not divide the entire country because he's trying to keep the Epstein files from being released.

We all black people have to do what we do the best, pray to the Father in Heaven and watch what Happens.
Also, find a polling place where you can vote, even if it's a couple of miles further than you use to going. What I'm stating, even if you don't have a vehicle or can't drive, I'm sure you know someone who does and that individual will be available before the polls close, in your area.
