Bone Tomahawk is crap, it's one of those movies that should have been 30 minutes long.

So I’m sitting in the waffle joint with Sister Carmella and she’s drinking her fifth Coors and eating the ‘Supersize Bargain Waffle Deal’ of a stack of eight waffles and she looks happy, and she says, “Can I confess a coupla things to you?” and I say, Sure! and she says, “Sister Henrietta and I were walking back to the convent one night when we realized a man was following us, so we decided to split up so he couldn't follow both of us. I made it back safely, but Sister Henrietta arrived later. I asked her what happened and she said, ‘Well he caught up to me. So I did the only logical thing: I lifted my dress, and he pulled down his pants, which was a smart move coz a nun with her dress up can run much faster than a man with his pants down!‘ “Anyways last night I got into a taxi and noticed the driver staring. He confesses he's always had a fantasy of kissing a nun. I said I can grant that, but only if you are single and Catholic. He swears he is both. After a passionate kiss, the driver starts crying. I lied, he sobs. I'm married and Jewish! I said, that’s ok. My name is Kevin, and I’m on my way to a Halloween party.” I said, which part of all that is the confession? And she says, “The confession is that I find all of that hilarious.”

80 years from now, Kurt is going to be on some spaceship telling our A.I. overlords, "Yeah back in the 2020s I did a cowboy show on Earth and it was just so much fun."

I had quite a chuckle hearing that Kurt’s first big movie moment was kicking Elvis Presley in the shins! It takes many of us back to a much simpler time in cinema. There is something so nostalgic about the story of Elvis asking to meet Kurt's dad just to learn how to wear a cowboy hat properly. As we get older, we realize it is these small, human connections that stay with us far longer than any movie role. Truly a lovely and lighthearted look at a legend.

It's a pity Kurt Russell never became a Hollywood A-lister. I have often wondered why.
