Nealon was great.
Just couldn't do the SNL news very well. Weird. Flubbed words often. Never felt comfortable. Then Norm stepped in.

Jan Hooks was one of the top 3 SNL cast members ever. Number 1, really.
She had a great cast surrounding her, too. Especially Phil Hartman. Special group. Her Tammy Faye was freakin' hilarious.

The weird year? More like the Weird Science year.

You can see what Lorne Michaels was doing after the 'Weird Year' where it really was many talented people who seemingly had nothing in common with each other. So, yes, Dana, his buddy and the girlfriend are going to do better off the start and it did return the whole viewers' sense of seeing friends and family. It worked.

What network exec would possibly make the choice to deliberately push Chris Farley and Adam Sandler off of SNL?? I always assumed they just moved on to bigger and better things, but the idea that the network was actively trying to get rid of them is unbelievable.

Dana Carvey, a legend in his own mind. Still suffers, unfortunately and horribly, from Chevy Chase syndrome.

One of the funniest bits I ever saw on that show was his, where he reviewed p** movies. Interested, interested, very interested, extremely interested, and then I suddenly lost interest.

Decent dude, shit replacement for Norm on update. Still seems bitter that he was not even in Norm's ballpark of funny, but towed the corporate line. He sold out, did what he was told, and resented Norm because he recognized real talent.
