It’s totally possible that it’ll grow on me over the coming weeks, but for the first time, I feel like Kanye doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Do you agree? Disagree? Have a suggestion for what I should review? Let me know in the comments!

Ye is the eighth studio album by rapper/producer Kanye West. It features Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Ty Dolla Sign, PartyNextDoor, Jeremih, Charlie Wilson, Valee, and 070 Shake. It also features production from Mike Dean and Francis & the Lights, though the majority is produced by West himself. The record was premiered during a livestream in Wyoming, and it follows a long stretch of acclaimed albums such as The Life of Pablo, Yeezus, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I really like it. It has the production of MBDTF, the emotion of 808s, and the rapping of the best trilogy. My only real issue is the length kinda undercuts the suspense of Ye’s journey from egomaniac to selflessness and there’s just too many weak tracks when there should be no room for error.

    7/10
