Journey to EPCOT Center: A Symphonic History
On December 15, 1966, Walt Disney died. Sixteen years later, on October 1, 1982, EPCOT Center opened. This documentary covers the journey that took place in between.

I still wish we had the planned community version. But one thing I will give Epcot credit for and that IT IS A SHOWCASE FOR DIFFERENT CULTURES AND CUSTOMS OF COUNTRIES ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

Thank you, for saying why I love Epcot the most. Why I feel most at peace there more than any other park

I think I have found my new all time favorite video/documentary. You can feel the passion that went into this project, both this documentary and the EPCOT Center as a whole. I can only imagine how must time and effort went into creating this. I have no clue why I only found this now, and why it has less then a million views. Now if you excuse me I need to go rewatch this masterpiece about 23 more times.

> "wow this intro has been going on for a while hasn't it? It's probably been around five minutes and Kevin hasn't spoken yet."
> Checks progress
> "Oh it's been 20 minutes. I think I get what a 'symphonic history' is now."

One thing I love about this video is precisely how, as an experimental experience and film, it resembles how EPCOT was itself from the beginning an experimental, messy idea that came into fruition.

I visited Epcot (and the rest of Disney World) as part of my US trip in 2018-19, and I’ve been watching a LOT of this channel these past few days, and. god*damn.*
this video is one of this channel’s greatest masterpieces, and perhaps the most glorious way I could’ve been shown the full journey between Disney’s original vision and the final product
bravo!

The master plans sound like corporate lore, like the mouse in Walt’s KC studio that “was the inspiration for Mickey” and definitely not losing Oswald in the divorce

I can't tell what's more impressive, the powerful and determined story, or the awe-inspiring and magnificent people who told it to us. This may be your magnum opus, to present this incredible story in such an incredible way, with all the era-appropriate stylings and practical effects. It's a shame that this video is struggling so much purely because of the way it is presented (admittedly, I also took quite a while to just sit down and fully immerse myself in it), but I hope the growth of it will be steady and true.
Can't wait for animatronics pt. 2!

I think Walt would be somewhat disappointed 😂. But then again I dont think he fully understood central planning on a mass scale.

After watching this video many times since it's been uploaded, I definitely say that this is my favorite on YouTube period. It is an absolute masterpiece— I simply love it to pieces. It's as if the values of Epcot Center are imbued into the production style. I can always come back to this video and fervently wish that our future may return to the philosophy of this place of joy, hope and friendship. That the journey that they took nearly 50 years was not done in vain; that our country and our planet may celebrate and showcase once more. ❤️
