The motion still seems a little bit too inertial, as in, one of those inertial physics video games… but dang, no more 4 finger discount… and the details are glorious!

I had a music professor in college who performed 4:33 for us a couple of weeks into the semester–I still remember it vividly 30+ years later. We were studying nonstandard musical genres. The class opened up my mind to a variety of things I'd never heard before, and I'll always be grateful for that experience, even though I didn't end up pursuing a musical career.

At first I was very impressed with the idea of an NPC channeling the creativity of a man long gone and illustrating his thoughts so well. A fine example of multimodal storytelling and a new medium’s potential. I’d ‘heard’ of “4’33”before, but didn’t know the inspiration for it until now. The idea that its first audience wasn’t aware of it must have truly made its debut, uncanny. As in uncanny valley uncanny. That familiar yet strange sensation used by Nobody to equally extreme advantage here —bringing to life what must have felt in the RL of its time just as inexplicably bizarre. This vid reminded me of returning from my first day of a new job many years ago to a similarly eerie surprise. My grandmother had kindly decided to tidy up my apartment while I was gone. A not unfamiliar kindness, except that everything she touched she put back in an ever so slightly different spot. My things but not where I’d left them. Home, but not my home, as I’d left it. The result felt very, very, much like this. Fascinatingly creepy.

I thought it was 4 feet and 33 inches. Kind of a giant. It did drown out the sound of one hand clapping. I thought about using it for my standup. But one word jokes don't quite fit. I hear a multitude in my head all the time. This was such a relief, I enjoyed the collection of magic moments. Thanx !
