For real though (or should I say, PHARRELL though), this was really dang good and probably one of my favorite albums of the year so far.

Dirty Computer is the third album by Janelle Monae. She is best known for her songs “Tightrope,” “Q.U.E.E.N.” and “Dance Apocalyptic.” The album was preceded by the singles “Make Me Feel,” “Django Jane,” “Pynk,” and “I Like That.” It follows her albums The Electric Lady and The Archandroid, as well as her work in the films Hidden Figures and Moonlight.

Her most human sounding effort to date. It’s the first time on an album of hers we’ve heard her sing as herself and not some made up character. Simultaneously though, the references to technology are still there both lyrically and sonically
