I’ve waited THIRTY years for this | Nostalgia Nerd

Check out Warhammer 40K: Boltgun at https://bit.ly/41sNtb0 (sponsored by Focus Entertainment) ~ Warhammer 40K is a universe that has always fascinated me. It’s so dark and visceral that you can barely look away. That’s why games like Space Hulk, Deathwing and Space Marine have always drawn me in. So imagine my delight when Focus Entertainment told me that they were bringing out a Warhammer 40K Space Marine BOOMER Shooter, and that I could review it. Well, that’s what we’re here for; Warhammer 40: Boltgun. Let’s get into it! #boltgun-thegame #ad #warhammer

Got this game a couple days ago, Started on Exterminatus… Been smooth sailing. Games not too hard but certainly challenging in some areas. First time I’ve played an old game like this. I’m 19 and haven’t tried anything like it. Very fun in my opinion. I’d give it a 9/10. I’d rate it higher if they had a circular deadzone for controllers instead of the old square stile. As a circular deadzone makes aiming more fluid and natural.

Dropping down on a group of nurglings, stomping them to absolute mush? Great.

Using dash when there is a wall and between you and it there is a cultust… Lovely.

And smacking that chainsword button to chew through chaos marines… Sweet.

Haven’t these games all essentially been the same since Quake in mid 90’s? Craving for some real early 90’s diversity and creativity in gaming.

I agree that this game was all kinds of fun. Medium was perfect for me, challenging at times but never frustrating. You can’t really complain for 17 quid. Took me back to playing Doom on the office pc back in the 90s.

God I loved this channel, even defended it when Peter started initially grifting. But after the ridiculous "vegan only, meat eaters go f yourself" arcade debarkle, and more full sponsored videos like this, I'm done. All the best Peter, I hope you rediscover your passion for content creation but I won't be there for the ride.

1:00 "But this…" proceeds to show footage of being nearly stationary in a boomer shooter where you can run 60mph and jump 3 stories… HERESY!

Yeah, I agree that damage feedback needs fixed… but hauling ass is what you already should be doing at all times.

I wasn't expecting to see you doing a game review, especially of a modern game, even if it does have a 90's nostalgia look, but I'm glad you did. Hopefully I'll get to play it one day, just have to wait until they sell it outside of Steam, and possibly open source it.
