I definitely agree with what you say here. It's weird to expect to agree with someone all the time. I know you and I probably disagree on some things, especially considering I'm a vegan, but I enjoy your videos because they are thoughtful and articulate and sometimes you even introduce me to a new perspective or expand my understanding of a perspective I was already somewhat familiar with.

I feel like these days people don’t like admitting they could be wrong so instead of listening to another persons opposing opinions they would rather label, shout, screen, call names and accuse them of all sorts of extreme bull crap people need to chill

I like people that I disagree with. I agree with you mostly, but even if I didn't I'd still like you. You're the intellectual yardstick to which I compare other youtubers to.

Thank you for this honest look at these very real problems and for addressing the ridiculousness of the us vs them mentality. I see my male friends suffering from the inability to express emotion without ridicule, from having their domestic abuse being brushed aside, and from being condemned for being too wishywashy when being respectful toward a woman they are interested in.

We need to stop blaming one another and start just treating one another with dignity. We need to stop the gender role stereotypes and allow each other to be who we truly are.

I think specifically on the internet there's this desire to make everything black and white. To cast aside anyone who has ever been "problematic" in nature forever without the expectation of growth from that person. I think people are often unwilling to acknowledge that people can make great points and not always be a great person. I don't particularly care for Azelia Banks, she's made many antisemitic, rape apologist statements that I've disagreed with, but I will still most certainly cite her opinions on race issues in the music industry because I feel she makes good points there. I think while there are in fact just bad people in the world, much of the world is not like that and it would be easier for everyone if we didn't just throw people completely out of our lives over one disagreement.

    I completely agree 😛
Personally I like the philosophy of Hegelian.

If there is not a struggle (opposing views) the subject has no meaning. Look at nature, sun gravitational forces is pulling the earth towards and the earth is moving at a force away (so we orbit and not collide). If one side won out on that argument, we'd not exist.

Everything can be thought like that. Political? Left or right, if you just have one it loses it's meaning. What would be the Right views if the Left did not exist. Through that conflict we get progress.

Although, that all being said.. logic states there is only one answer and science follow suit. Either we're constructing theories around a flawed notion or that sun needs to hurry up and consume us.

You have expanded my perspective on many things, you have made me see a few arguments from the other side, and i just wanted to say thank you

Dude. Yes. People need to get in the habit of thinking this way. Love your perspectives, your way of explaining things and of course your hair. -new subscriber

I think disagreements are great. But the unfortunate thing is so many people just don't know how to disagree. They flame anyone who has a different opinion than them and it just burns me up that they think they can do whatever they want just because they're "right". Unless they're just that bad at arguing, then it can just be funny. This one guy tried to argue against homosexuality being natural by saying "opposites attract" and then proceeded to compare the complexity of human attraction with magnets without even understanding how magnets work.

The problem is, you can't always debate one-on-one with people you admire, since thousands of others are in the same position as you, so you're just left with an extreme sense of frustration that can temporarily resolve into either hating that youtuber and anyone who agrees, hating anyone who opposes them, or hating yourself. And that feeling only lasts a few hours, true, but it builds up over time, especially if you see one of them just going on and on about how stupid the other one is.

This was great! Of course, I feel weird saying that now, considering haha 🙂 But seriously, it's totally okay to disagree. It must be super boring to agree with someone 100% of the time. Seems like you might never learn anything that way, you know? I learn so much by disagreeing with people — especially people who have really taken the time to consider their opinions. It sucks that people (myself included) often feel that the subtext of 'I disagree' seems to be taken as 'I don't respect you/your opinion' or whatever.

Please please talk about this 10 hour street harassment t video. A lot of people take this video as ridiculous and just a girl getting compliments. I just would like to know your opinion.

Of course I disagree with you often, I watch out of appreciation for your ability to make the argument interesting. I happen to agree with you in this video, so of course I naturally pay closer attention, but when I disagree with one of your videos I get the added bonus of being prompted to think about why it is that I disagree, and that can be equally valuable.

This is excellent! For example I love MrRepzion, and agree with most of what he says. However I just watched the second video by him that I have ever disagreed with something he said. I agreed with him on most of it, but one thing he said just rubbed me wrong. However I'm still subscribed to him and I will still continue to watch his videos because he makes good points and I agree with most of what he has to say. Jenna Marbles says a LOT of things I disagree with, but again I'm still subscribed to her because she makes me laugh. As you said, no one will ever agree with 100% of what someone has to say, but that doesn't mean you have to hate them. I've disagreed with you on many things in your videos, but I'm still subscribed and will still continue watching. 🙂 And not just because I like your hair. Lol.
