I got some good news for ya, Titus! Remember that episode of you show "The Protector"? I know how much you hate bullies…so do I…
I hate bullies too. Let me tell you a little story….a long time ago, there was this call-in cable talk show hosted by two young ladies in their 20s, and a guy around the same age. I was a frequent viewer, even followed the hosts blogs (remember those things?). One day, on one of the young lady's blogs….a random asshole threatened to rpe her. I was shocked. Who is this guy? Who does he think he is? "Who does this freak think he is?! Someone should report him!" I posted on the blog. He emailed me. Now, back in these days, blogs weren't….protected as they say. His email said: (Are you ready for this!?) "Chill, dude. I'm joking." What? WHAT?! Joking?! Is he out of his mind!? I posted the next day on the lady's blog and said "He emailed me and said he was joking." And…he posted again. "Not a joke, sweetie. I'm gonna rpe you and your co-cost whore." WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING!? I emailed him. "Stop! Stop this!" I pleaded. "Are you out of your mind, this is a crime you know! Stop this NOW! Do you have any idea what you are doing?" He got back to me saying "I got a warning. But some people can't take a joke. And I'm not doing anything wrong." WHAT?!! Then it hit me. This guy…is a dumb kid. He's a kid who's watched too much HBO and "Family Guy" and thinks this is funny!! I told him to back off! "What you're doing IS a crime! A friend of mine is a cop! If you stop now, maybe charges won't be pressed! This is an crime you are commiting! Stop this. Stop this NOW!" Didn't work. He went back on the blog and said he was going to rpe the host, her co-host, and her roomate!? I was REALLY mad. I sent him one last warning. If he didn't stop this…he's in for it. "This is a crime! You are using sexual assualt as a threat! You could get five to six years for this!" He didn't listen. He went back on the lady's blog and said "Sweetie pie doesn't read these. You know that." AND…the lady who he was threatening…saw his posts, and took charge. "Actually…I do read these. It's my blog. And I'm gonna press charges. Nice job, dumb ass!" Whew. Well…he got what was coming to him. I was still pretty young…and I was still living with my parents…My mom flipped out! "What are you crazyohmygodhecouldvekilledyouaaaaaaaa!" My dad was calmer…and gave me a long talk about being safe online. "Why did you do that?" he asked. "I had to stand up!" I said. "I can't let people threaten people like that! It's not right! I hate bullies! You know that!" My dad sighed. "you put yourself in danger." "Did I ?" I said. "I took down someone who was a threat." My dad said I was being foolish…but my grandpa…he said what I did was noble and brave. And I could've saved a life…of someone I never met and might never meet. He gave me kudos…but he wanted me to be more careful next time.

The worst part about the world we live in isn't that everything is going to shit, on account of the truly selfish and greedy, but that it's such a spectacularly boring affair.

Normally love listening to Titus and Co., but jfc is this the most uninteresting kind of stuff, even if it's legitimately helpful info to have in the pocket.
Someone, hit me with the cordless holepunch. I'm tired.

Its been years since i last watched Walking Dead and i forget her name but the woman who chose to stay in the exploding building always struck me as the smartest of the lot. I mean, who wants to live in post apocalyptic hellscape?! Not me. Same with Fallout (the tv show; never played the games) I don't want that hell!

We are alive. When push comes to shove, the desire to survive is pre-eminent. Staying alive becomes the number one objective. You deal with everything else …later.

If the anti-vax aren't vaccinated, once a pandemic occurs (it will occur), then these anti-vaxxers will surely die off.
All I can say is: good riddance. No more dealing with these stupid people. Then we can rebuild the world where democracy thrives.

After learning a bit about the candidates in your Governor's race I can see why you're giving up. jesus… and the only one.. the only frkn one that's on our side is Porter and you all are writing her off because she was mean to someone once… maybe the magatards are right, maybe your just a bunch of cancel culture snowflakes. Donold J for jesus christ CA, you're going to end up with a billionaire Brit that is owned by trump. X-box… common Toepher… you're smarter than this, I know you're operating on months of massive trauma, but get you're sht together man!

Ham here. None of the repeaters or infrastructure will survive an EMP. You can keep your radio in a faraday bag, but who will you be talking to line-of-site? Only radios shielded from the EMP will still work.

Because we have governments who can end the world who believe in end times and wish for it, I do believe there's a chance the wrong idiot gets into power. O wait we already have them there…

This reminds me of a saying we had in the early 70s for when The Bomb goes off: “Put your head between your knees and kiss your sweet a$$ goodbye.” This is just one reason I’m glad I live in a city that has a fairly large military presence: I figure we’ll be one of the first to get bombed, and it’ll all be over in a second. No dying from radioactive poisoning for me, thanks.

For Ham you need a license, CB no license, with the CB get one with side band, then you can access FM on a off channel and still be legal. I'm 616 the Antique man.

Highly recommend Lewis Dartnell's 'The Knowledge'. Not as pretty or as incredibly comprehensive as 'The Book', but nowhere near as bank-breaking and a good overview of things like the scientific method, generating electricity, and turning surviving into living.

and here I was, thinking all that "The Day After" talk was a relic from the 80s…. and believe me, "I was there, Gandalf" for the original fallout of that movie which, combined with local TV running "Planet of the Apes" every other weekend, really became the stuff of my nightmares…. and just for the record, nuclear fallout can take decades to dissipate, it's just that the deadlier types of radiation decay faster, but that doesn't mean that it is "safe" to go outside, it just means that if you HAVE TO go outside for short periods, MAYBE you'll survive, but also remember, this is mostly theoretical, based on calculations and extrapolations of the effects of the only 2 nuclear weapons detonated in warfare in human history, but the devices that would be used in a war today are orders of magnitude more powerful than ANYTHING that has ever been used/experienced, so there really is no way to say if you'll be "safe" after 72 hours, that's just a best guess which may very well be wrong and/or at least overly optimistic…. me, personally? not interested in making to "The Day After", I just hope I'm the first one to go….

With my health conditions, I wouldn’t expect to last long without modern medicine. Figure I’d have 1-2 months before my meds wore out. Hopefully just long enough to pass any tips like making a water distiller or supplies like food and medicine along to friends and family to get them started, and give them a fighting chance(assuming we’re not talking nuclear nightmare/any existence so horrific survival is more than work, but torture).
