Is Trump Right About Chicago? We Went To The Most Dangerous Parts To Find Out.

More Perfect Union | March 1, 2026

Trump has long targeted Chicago, calling it the “most dangerous city in the world.”
But homicides were down 30% last year, even as Trump cut crime prevention grants.
What’s making crime fall? Investments in community-led violence prevention programs.

Blk communities CAN’T trust cops bc they’re more likely to 🔫 u than help. If they was trustworthy, everyone would snitch. Ppl are on their own, cops are only useful if they are apart of the community. programs like this should be apart of the police dept, IF the goal is peaceful neighborhoods

Blacks need to correct other blacks. Then nobody can cry racism. Until then, they also need to work and contribute to society like everyone else has to, or starve. Americans are so entirely sick of listening to bs excuses that if these poor blacks just had more money they'd behave better. We all know that's a lie. They have to find their soul, correct their victimization mindset and grow a backbone. Black men need to work and take care of their families as well as stop expecting black women to take on the role of the man. Gross. Stop expecting others to take care of them and almost act as parents. It's disgusting.

Dump the egos, children women seniors disabled have the invisible curfew… if residents pay taxes they should get working police and help them, quit listening to the cool young men, don’t go by Deebo’s opinion on incarceration and police.

In a perfect world, just imagine if Trump, the Chicago Mayor, and these community help groups were to sit down at the same table. Cut the bull politics and get down to the nitty-gritty? Trump: Mr. Mayor, what can I do to help you help these communities? Mr. Mayor: Send everything you got, and let these groups coordinate the plan with the Federal authorities……I know, too simple. But everything starts with a dream and some baby steps.

Very good job with uncovering some truth about my city! Can you please consider doing a episode of NFP organization A Knock at Midnight 400 W 76th street? They are a huge Resource in the heart of Englewood and Auburn Gresham area. They offer programs like STEM and arts education for youth, job training (including CDL and culinary arts), financial literacy, and family support to prevent foster care placement and promote reunification. AKAM collaborates with schools, churches, and government institutions to build community capacity and improve life skills.
    Check them out

The problem is multi-faceted. Trying to solve it is kinda like the 5 blind men describing an elephant. It is ultimately a heart problem, when God is respected crime always fades away. Why have businesses moved out? When crime makes it too expensive to operate. When drugs enter the society, society crumbles. Who introduces drugs into society and why? The federal government has a role to play to solve the problems, although handing out “grants” is so easy to corrupt and it creates a dependency. President Johnson’s Great Society may have done more to destroy the black family than anything else. Politicians feed on those dependencies. Don’t demonize Trump, he is only doing what little he can. Back to the beginning, it is a heart problem. Jesus needs to be preached on every street corner, in every neighborhood!

I’m grateful that this video came across my feed, I love this kind of reporting; done by real people about real issues.
This is so well done, such an important topic and very inspiring.
I truly hope that President Trump finds this video and works directly with the ppl in it. They want change so they are the change. They deserve all the help they can get. ☀️

Thwre is a direct corrilation with the number of police per capita and the level of crime. Of course there are other vriables like light punishment in Chicago, California, DC, etc.

If the punishment is non-existent criminals will continue because the risk is worth the reward.

I lived in the SF Bay Area on the peninsula. People get caught braking into cars and the cops give them a ticket and release them. It has been shown that these criminals continue to break into cars the same day after release. These are career criminals. Not just, "trying to survive".

Adding more police would merely reduce crime, but not solve the reasons why there is crime in the first place. Crime is a symptom of a system not meeting the needs of its members. Increasing opportunities, justice, and community involvement are some of the ways to actually fix the system.

Please don't give us PC buullshite answers. It does not help the poor black people in this city. I am from Chicago – it is HEAVILY RACIALLY SEGREGATED. If you deny this you are stinking lying racist scum. The Black neighborhoods are VERY DANGEROUS. Chicago could desegregate but it refuses to because the democratic party wants its Black vote block. Middle class Blacks FLEE Chicago for Atlanta and New York. Chicago is an APARTHEIT city.

Same excuses decades later. Outlaw gang membership. Habitual offenders get life in prison. Hold parent/s criminally accountable for their children's criminal actions. Legalize drugs for use in camps, you can use as much as you want but you are confined to the camps.

Just an awful article the same old s*** that they talk about they're the ones that get the problem there's so much money always going to these places and nothing ever happens so you know at least they tried to stop the crime and he always want to blame it on somebody else maybe you should blame it on the Democrats what about all the money for the foreigners they brought in that destroyed your nation what about that money why don't you talk about the real facts

This is nothing new this has been going on forever I grew up in Little Village 26th street Lawndale Gardens projects 25th and California in the 50's 60's and early 70's and this area has always been a problem with gangs and there were plenty of jobs so having jobs available doesn't stop crime when there are no consequences

As a conservative, I’m on board with everything this organization is doing. When you rely on your community as a whole to self sustain and fix your own problems, it’s that much less interference from the government needed. I can’t say I’m on board with Brandon Johnson’s policies, but I hope to see more of what this organization is doing to help their communities.

Ask why Citadel pack up and moved ,their employees were getting robbed injured while going too work .the officials are all ways going to say its safe in Chicago, last summer we had a family member shot multiple times, by an immigrant the boy was unarmed ,the story was changed twice the shooter was released the same day no jail time .It depends on who you are if its safe or not .

A side effect from the war on drugs. When you create a black market it becomes violent. We should have learned that lesson from alcohol prohibition.

I moved to Chicago from the west coast, don’t regret it at all. It’s a huge city, there are going to be problem areas, but I’ve very rarely felt unsafe.

Don’t go looking for a problem and you are unlikely to encounter one.
