Kinks Size was my first early Kinks 'album' after starting with State of Confusion & Rhino Greatest Hits. It's just fine but I was quick to start collecting the original albums once they came out via Velvel reissue in the late 90s!
A UK court ruled Hello I Love You was a 'cover' of All Day and All of the Night ! Listen to the opening of Do Your Remember Walter and then ELO's Mr Blue Sky. Or check out the bridge of She's Got Everything and then see if you hear that melody in Deep Purple's 'Woman From Tokyo'.

The Kinks also suffered dodgy repackaged albums at home on Pye's budget label, Marble Arch. Fortunately there was so much good material that they're almost as good as authorised releases

"Kinks-Size" in mono was the first album I ever bought mainly because of "All Day And All Of The Night". I have fond memories of that album and actually listened to my copy about a month ago. It still sounds great today. I love The Kinks! One comment about repackaging UK tracks on a US album, we in the US didn't know the difference since we were not privy to the UK releases in the 1960's.

I think Kinks-Size is the best of their early pre 1966 l.p.s. Always liked it.

The same thing happened to all the British groups of that era. The Kinks, The Beatles, The Hollies, The Stones, The Who, etc. American record labels threw together additional albums with singles and EP covers. The fact that the British LP's had 14 songs as opposed to our 11 made it easy for haphazard recordings.

Hey! We’d love to see you do an album review of our very own Carter Brady’s ‘Shopping Cart’. Hope you see this and best wishes!

Everything in the 60's was a "cash-grab". It was, after all, called the music "business" for a reason.

Personally, I think 1965 may be the best year of popular music. 1966 is a close second.
