Iron Maiden news everyone is talking about!
Is a new Iron Maiden documentary coming on Netflix next year? Let’s see…
If you are an Iron Maiden fan than you probably saw dozens of posts all of over social media in the last couple of days confirming the long anticipated news of a new Iron Maiden documentary to be released on Netflix in March of 2025. Which of course is just great… and so, this is the original piece of news posted online:
“October 1, 2024 — Netflix has announced the release of a major new documentary on heavy metal legends Iron Maiden, scheduled to premiere in March 2025. The documentary, titled “Run to the Hills: The Story of Iron Maiden, will offer an unprecedented look into the history of one of the most influential and enduring bands in rock music. Known for their electrifying stage presence, iconic mascot Eddie, and groundbreaking albums, Iron Maiden’s journey has become the stuff of rock legend—and Netflix aims to capture it all.
Directed by renowned music filmmaker David Morgan, who has previously worked on successful rock documentaries, “Run to the Hills” promises a deep dive into the evolution of the band, from their formation in London’s East End in 1975 to their rise to global superstardom. The film will chart the band’s highs, including their triumphant world tours and platinum-selling albums, as well as the challenges they’ve faced throughout their five-decade career.”
Going on and on explaining in details how this documentary will be the truest of all the true documentaries about the legendary Heavy Metal band… which of course is just incredible news, as this is exactly what so many fans have been waiting for as a part of Iron Maiden’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, and that’s why the social media posts about this press release, have gotten tens of thousands of likes and reposts across Facebook and beyond, with thousands of happy fans sharing their excitement with each other…
But before you grab your popcorn wearing an Eddie t-shirt, let’s do a little research about it!

I mostly like to see a documentary part 4.
The 80s been documented so much already.
But the 90s and to the present day I don't know so much about as I know about the 80s.
But if they make a documentary about their whole history, It should have stories and info about things every Maiden fans don't know already.
Awesome show, bro!
Up the Irons!
Cheers!

Consider Iron Maiden's catalogue of biographical film and then the put that next to the fake news.

I guess if they still have the energy to tour, more power to them. I was a bit miffed when Rush called it a day in 2015, despite the fact that they had been very active for decades – none of us knew that Neil had less than 5 years left and wanted to spend time with his family. I hope Maiden continues to get a thrill from performing all over the world.

Speaking of what might be released, do you think Irons might release a live album from the Future Past Tour?

Hmm ok then but we’ve had at least up to SSOASS on the Early Years dvds. What’s going to be different and in depth about the first 12 years?

I don't really care documentary or not. I want a DVD or something like this from the future past tour.

I consider Iron Maiden in the TOP 3 Metal bands of all time and they are NOT #3 (Hint) 😅

It would be nice if they could release every album from 1980 to 1997 with all the B-side songs attached to the albums in question. This would mean Virus and Doctor Doctor as B-sides to Virtual XI. Since they never belonged to any particular album.

I think from memory that Harris is very hands on with video content on Iron Maiden. I remember a quote from him on a dvd mpg2 encoder software called Mpack from Astarte. This may be a fever dream but he was going on about how the encoder captured blue best on flickery live footage. Somebody can correct me here if it’s a broken memory.

As a fan for 42 years I think it's time for them to retire and enjoy the fruits of their labor. They still sound great but life is a fleeting thing. All work and no play makes a something something. Especially with Nickos medical issue etc. I personally think it's Steve pushing it on.

If that’s going to be 2hr documentary film, than it will be about nothing. It’s too much of history to compress into one film. Even the original 3 part series is something like 4 hrs long, but is very superficial fast and incomplete.

Pretty sure any documentary would avoid discussing the sacking of the genuinely talented Clive Burr in favour of the massively incompetent Nicko McBrain

I saw Iron maiden in the Cart and Horses pub in Stratford East London in 1976. My old school buddy Paul Mario Day was making his singing debut that night and I didn't even know he could sing😮 He now lives in Australia. We still keep in touch 😊

Still not in the Hall of Fame! The HOF sucks, Maiden does not! Just saw them on Friday, great as usual.. Next year’s tour will be even better.

I'm seeing Maiden next Monday on Portland, OR. I'm super stoked for this one because the first concert I attended was Iron Maiden's Somewhere In Time tour (Somewhere On Tour) back in the late 80's with Yngwie Malmsteen opening.
I hope they have a tour for Seventh Son before they retire. I missed that the first time around and am still kicking myself because that album was a masterpiece!

There was a three part series I found on YouTube that documented the history of Iron Maiden. It was really good, but only went up to seventh son. Was waiting for a part 4&5, but never saw them.

Of course I would watch it but I have my reservations. But Netflix being involved .. I don’t feel so confident about it… and surely that would involve Maiden giving some rights to Netflix and I don’t see Steve doing that.

Very good news for #ironmaiden ! I don't like so much netflix but the mainstream side of this opportunity is really interesting for the band
