I saw Metallica live in Frankfurt for the first time in nearly 5 years and was blown away by what Metallica has become, and Iron Maiden are kicking off their 2026 Run For Your Lives Tour in Athens, Greece right now.
Bruce Dickinson reimagined his legendary Tears of the Dragon, and Blaze Bayley is back with new Wolfsbane song. Ozzy Osbourne will be made into an AI version to talk to fans, and Behemoth announced a new album. Benediction announces new vocalist for Latin American concerts, the end of Vomitory as we know it, Poison reunion drama continues, Transformers go Metal, new releases by Armored Saint, Dimmu Borgir, Elvenking, Haken, Devin Townsend and much more in a new Metal Digest.

Metallica is a great legend, I´ve been loving them since 1993 and they still play in a solid shape consindering their age, but please stop saying they are on top of their game. They objectively are´t, if you follow their career. Another thing is that in metal mainstream, except Maiden and Slipknot (very old / older bands), there are not any other competitive bands unfortunately. There is a huge gap between these three and other metal bands in the last two decades.

The ozzy thing is unsettling. Especially only a year after his passing. I have always respected the osbournes and love ozzy's music but… i guess all the stuff they say about sharon is true. It's pretty goddamn sickening that her only concern is continuing to profit off of ozzy indefinitely.

I think that Ozzy AI is trained to bash Iron Maiden and especially Bruce Dickinson at every possible occasion, considering how much she despises Bruce 😅
It's a pity that they did only swap The Clairvoyant for Infinite Dreams. But then again…. I think as many people on this leg of the tour didn't see them on the first leg, probably they'd create a lot of conversation about why they took about this song for that song etc. I love the clairvoyant, I love infinite dreams… Is have loved if they'd have dropped over if the long songs for Alexander the Great, but honestly. It's a difficult one to play in terms of the rhythm section and I think Doug, whilst he is good, simply couldn't do it justice, especially not middle section. Come to think about it. Considering that Nicko managed to play that song despite his limitations after the stroke…. Was rather surprising. What a guy… I like Doug, but … There's no other drummer quite like Nicko

I don't know if you are a fan or not, but I am… a boxing fan and a fan of Usyk! Double that, because he is Ukrainian. In many ways, a surprisingly competitive match…, but Rico is tough, too.

Today (24th of May) in Bulgaria, we celebrate one of our national holidays – the day of Bulgarian alphabet (later, all slavic nation's), and at some degree, not less meaningful for me – the birthday of PFK Levski Sofia 1914 – the best (historically and of today… we are champs this year) football team in Bulgaria.
I don't know why I'm telling you all that… just because the day is today.

Great gig in Athens yesterday.

3:43 I don't agree that the only way to keep this genre alive is by reimagining it at all. It's by constantly using it, putting it out and ensuring that each generation is exposed to its joys and depth. Classical music has done just fine for over 400 years by doing this and although it has merged into other genre's, by itself it has survived centuries. Metal needs to look to this because if metal isn't broken, don't fix it, USE IT!!!
