Ireland’s Hilarious Kung Fu Movie – Fatal Deviation (1998)

Qxir | January 18, 2026

Qxir’s been cooped up in the house for a long time, so here it is – the longest video on the channel yet. Sit down and grab a beer, we’re watching a movie. A curious one, to say the least.

“Fatal Deviation is a low-budget cult film produced and set in Trim, County Meath, Ireland. Produced in 1998, it enjoys the distinction of being Ireland’s first full-length martial arts film. The film stars real-life martial arts enthusiast James Bennett. The film was conceived by James Bennett. Many have considered this film to be one of the worst films ever made. The movie went straight to video without a theatrical release.”

26:20 It's common for women to find it attractive that a man has the capability to be dangerous but won't harm them. This is part of the reason why serial killers have a following among women, and it's theorized to be a desirable genetic trait as a man who can protect you from danger is a safe bet for reproduction.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Neil Breen can’t stay off the screen in his films, I would’ve sworn this was one of his international productions.

in soviet Union he whole concept of eastern martial arts was banned multiple times, despite its popularity. It was a felony in 30-s, in 70-s, and in early 80-s. Now it is decriminlised, but any ninja weaponry from shurikens to nunchucks is striclty forbidden.

Okay but isn't this movie very endearing when you imagine this dude involving all the other people and stuff? It's like an irish Wakaliwood movie. "Who killed captain MacGowan?" (the most irish surname I could think of)

You've one of those faces, (lol brace yourself, nothing good comes after a sentence like that!) that changes with your hair. (I was kidding, it's not a bad thing!) I'm the same. Different hair style makes the face look really quite different!
