Love your content but was a little bit let down by this episode. I wish you would've mentioned CIA's role in training the Mexican cartels like the Zetas, or even briefly brought up the connection between the US firearms industry and cartels. There is a reason these cartels have the training and firepower to take on the Mexican national guard. You don't get that type of firepower and training just anywhere. There are multiple good video essays on this matter and feels like a noticeable gap in this coverage. As a Mexican, it's a bit unfortunate you chose an American (who seems well versed) to speak on the issue of cartels, when there are plenty of equally if not more educated Mexican voices that can speak on this matter.

I just had a wonderful visit to Jalisco. I went to Guadalajara, Arandas, Tequila, Chapala. I met so many wonderful people and this video brings tears to my eyes because I never once felt unsafe in Mexico. The reality is it's the people of Mexico who are suffering the most from the Cartels. I feel even worse because the more research I do and understand the more I find it harder and harder to believe the US goverment isn't somewhat involved with the Cartels and the drug trade. I wish only the best for the incredible people of Mexico. You deserve so much better.
