If a person wants to be grunge then they have to know about the music, it’s not that hard for a person to know about the sub culture before getting into it, also none of those bands that you played were grunge, actual grunge bands are nirvana, Alice in chains, Soundgarden, pearl jam, Melvins, stone temple pilots, Tad, L7, dinosaur jr., mudhoney, mother love bone, skin yard, Silverchair, green river, bush, screaming trees, and hammerbox

In one of my classes (“Internet’s languages analysis” ) we’re currently studying aesthetics and specifically me and my group had the idea to choose 2014 tumblr aesthetic for a project. I wasn’t gonna comment but I noticed a lot of the comments are from people 14-17 and I just WANT TO SAY..I was 16 turning 17 in 2014 and it was simultaneously the worst and best year of my life. I started the year mentally ill in bed on tumblr and ended it being kicked out of my house, drinking/smoking to “escape reality” and got caught. I can’t help but agree that the culture DEFINITELY fed into that because all my friends were going through the similar things and had similar influences. Like it was fun, but it wasn’t fun. Idk, strange times to think about.
I loved the fashion sooo much. I remember at my 2014 peak having pink hair, big baggy nirvana tshirt, skinny jeans and bright pink converse. I remember raiding my parent’s old clothes for flannels and wanting floral combat boots soooo badly. The Xx, arctic monkeys, aesthetic pictures doing stupid things in weird places. It was a wild time to be a teenager bc the attachment to social media was still pretty new for a lot of people.
