I Live 400 Yards From Mark Zuckerberg’s Massive Data Center

What’s the true cost of the AI revolution and who should be paying for it? We went to Georgia to find out.

Demand for data centers is booming as ChatGPT and other AI tools become integrated into our daily life. Under the Trump administration, investments into data centers in the U.S. is expected to surpass $1 trillion in the next five years.

But data centers put extraordinary demand on the power grid and require entirely new infrastructure. In the next three years, data center use of electricity is expected to double or even triple.

We went to rural Georgia, the state with the fastest data center growth in the country, and spoke with residents who are living next to massive data centers owned by Meta and Blackstone and facing nonstop noise, pollution and rapidly rising electricity bills.

    What is AI doing for us? How is it improving our lives? It made nothing faster, nothing smarter, just added extra steps for everything. Are you happier since AI showed up? are you healthier? did it fix a problem you had and could not have solved yourself?

    The USA is a third world country officially along with many African nations. They just have first world problems. No one can say USA is a world leader anymore.

    The fact they say so much money went to the education system is showing they are trying to hit emotional points by talking about children. Also, I bet you can ask every single student and teacher and not one of them will say they seen a single cent of that money. That only leaves us with the scum who created the public school system in order to indoctrinate the youth. They are the ones who got that money and it sits in banks, gaining interest and loan profits and credit percentages and only IF something breaks in the school will any of that money be used/spent. Don't fall for the bs

    Instead of lowering property taxes for everyone else, city always finds ways to spend it. And these developments are basically already approved and the city has spent tons of resources by the time they have public forums. Zoning code means almost nothing when the city sees potential tax dollars like this. Some states have better regulatory framework to put the electric generation and delivery infrastructure cost onto the developer…though the utilities will do whatever they are allowed to attract investors. Also, likely these landowners were approached to sell…sucks, but they really should have considered it.

    The regulations in the rest are getting worse to do business in early 2000s we bringing in the regulations and all our mining refining job jobs store are sent to China that’s the reason North America lost all the mining and manufacturing jobs now we want to bring regulations So these company stop building data centres in North America guess what China doesn’t care they will do whatever they wanna do to get ahead

    Seriously who really needs data centers? I mean besides the filthy rich people profiting off of them why does anyone actually need them? Human beings have been surviving for thousands and thousands of years without all of this crap, we should be living more like they did hundreds of years ago, not like this! This will be the real destruction the environment all around the world! Where are all of those climate activists now?

    This makes me sick! Not only are they destroying the environment tax payers are basically paying for it . They should make the people making AI and the people using AI to pay for the power it’s using instead of making the citizens pay for it! Greedy scumbags!

    giving millions and millions of dollars in tax breaks to billionaires for data centers that are built quick by out of town contractors and barely has any employees… so why do it? because someone in georgia is getting paid under the table thats why

    Everyone is running behind money, but that’s not the point of life. You’re born just like any other animal live simply and respect nature. If Zuckerberg is truly a gentleman, he should sit with these family, talk to them, and figure out what to do.

    What an absurd, what a tragedy,…What an idiot talking monkeys of a civilization we are,….How can this be,..to power up something so stupid, and resentful, and destructive for all of us humans, to invest in something so rigorous …Why are we soooo god damn stupid….I've commented couple of times years ago also,..when they launch those thousands of satellites, not one, not a hundred, but thousands…And how can this be,..for example for one individual,..or lets say ten to decide all of a sudden that the whole Earth is theirs and can do whatever they pleased…How can this be…Isn't there some regulatory commission about what we can and can not do to the Earths orbit,..how can one man decide about this,..if i have enough money i can deploy thousands of satellites into THE WHOLE EARTHS ORBIT…Are we that low,..is that where we came up as species…How can we all pay for our destruction,…even me, who lives thousands of miles far from U.States….How can this be,..are we so stupid,..and this guys Elon, Mark etc…are they sooo stupid,..what is the matter with them..We are all aware what kind of destruction this A.I. brings and yet we are all like morons towards this issue.
