I was so happy you addressed the ai interpreter, because it’s not just taking people’s jobs. I teach languages and kids are not interested in learning a language anymore at all. I know there was always the argument of “Miss I can just use google translate” but they knew that wouldn’t be usable for long conversations etc. Now they just don’t see the value in it at all, you can tell them whatever you want about how learning languages affects your brain in the most amazing way, that you make connections and experiences that way, that if you use AI to do all your thinking for you you simply won’t do anything yourself anymore which is kind of the very point of being alive etc, they just don’t care because “I can just have ChatGPT live translate”. They’re closing so many languages programs everywhere (they’ve closed French at my school for example) it’s really upsetting

People are always up in arms about AI, but not factory farming, which is objectively worse by a large margin. From what I understand, kurtis is a vegan, so idk why he doesn’t talk about that more?
