I don't see this Zohran-charisma everyone is talking about. When I listen to him, to me, he sounds just like Trump, disingenuous and pompous. I genuinely can't pay attention to what he says because my brain just tunes him out. I like him via the people whose opinion I value, e.g. F.D., Hasan, Mattxiv, etc, but without them Zohran would be just another huh?!-moment for me. I hope he turns out to be at least most of what he promised to be. 🤞

Okay, from Buffalo here living in The Bay Area but, India Walton, who I voted for, lost for a few reasons that had less to do with Byron Brown than one might think. A lot of Democrats in Buffalo lost faith in Walton's ability to lead because the party itself put her into the faces of her voters in the districts she won and when her social barometer started to get low, she drank, a lot— which was always fun until she broke. As someone who voted for her, I tried multiple times to cover up how sloppy she got but the rumor eventually spread throughout the Buffalo bar scene and thus to the voter who were tired of Byron, for sure, but weren't sure about Walton. Don't get me wrong Byron's lil stamp move was literally a foot away from being illegal, AND most of us were tired of him BUT Buffalo is a Democrat's city despite South Buffalo and parts of Lovejoy. Walton simply could not stick the landing. She did well in the debates, she had an amazing speech at Music is Art Festival that riveted the very diverse crowd that was eating out of the palm of her hands but, her follow-through outside of this relied on Byron not winning the party.

I cant really blame Mamdani for notngetting rid of Zionist police commissioner. But the reality is NYC has similar power structure to Myanmar's military junta. NYC has elections for civilian government, but the NYPD is in full control of EVERYTHING in the city.

He's great for showing what can be done. He can't and won't do everything. He's human, so he'll make mistakes and screw up. He'll let people down many times and in many ways. But on the whole he's doing good work and showing a path for others to follow.

Mamdani has a 10 in Charisma, making even Trump love him and a harder target for the right to harass and attack without going against Trump. Outside of that, doesn't amount to much since the Dems are still fully entrenched with the oligarchs running the country. He also has all the corruption in NYC to deal with, so outside of some wins, he'll have a hard time getting anything else done without brushing up against the corruption. Hopefully he keeps clean and stays far away from it.
