How Will Joe Biden Be Remembered? We Sat Down With the President

More Perfect Union | January 7, 2026

We sat down with President Joe Biden to talk about his economic legacy — and whether he thinks he went far enough to help working people.

He said he spent his career trying to overturn trickle-down economic theory. “What happened? Corporate America got greedy.”

Definitely towards the bottom of the list of Presidents. Even in his prime, Biden was intellectually mediocre. Biden likely would have never been President if Obama hadn't chosen him for VP. No one thought of Biden as anything other than a mediocre politician until that point.

The narrative of ol' Scranton Joe as being blue collar, humble, selfless, and effective was always a DNC and media creation. He was never different from other politicians, he was known for his gaffes and being the "Senator from MBNA " Dems hated Trump so much that those chose Biden (terrible) and Kamala (somehow even worse), and now they're paying for it.

Chips and science act.. yahhh. No jobs for Americans. We got a chips factory in Arizona. North of phx. They built it with foreign labor, it now employs foreign labor while they are here. Very few Americans actually work at that factory. Taiwan is moving their factories here so when China invades they still have manufacturing in America to flee to. Americans aren’t welcome in that place.

I will remember Joe Biden as the guy no independent thinker wanted to run against Trump in 2020. I will remember Joe Biden as an abused elder whose state of being was hidden by handlers who enjoyed power through him. I will remember Joe Biden as the genocidal soft-fascist corporate goon who was chosen by the Democratic elite to rob any alternative candidates (Marianne Williamson, Bernie Sanders (again)) of the chance to mobilize the people against Trump and Project 2025. I will remember Joe Biden as the president who was always hours late, forced the military to extend no-fly-zones because he was late (any pilot knows this), slept through meetings with international leaders, could never coherently stumble through a speech, and was therefore a disappointing laughingstock. I will remember Joe Biden as the creepy old man smelling children's hair. I will remember nothing Good about Joe Biden.

The Democrats damned themselves. The party elite sabotaged the chance of defeating Trump. I think this was quite possibly the intention.

Biden was actually worse than Jimmy Carter. I never thought that would be possible and am saddened that it was able to even happen. Funny how no one in Biden' administration remembered the 1973 Crisis and what he did on his first day increased prices to consumers across the board. History did repeat itself. We need to teach our Children what our Schools Don't. History.

He expressed that he's frustrated that a lot of the investments that his administration made could be undermined by Trump or if he keeps them he'll take full credit for something he didn't do. And yeah, it's going to be super frustrating to see what Trump's going to do with the good that came out of this last administration, Biden won't but the rest of us will have to live through it, but honestly, if Trump takes the credit for stuff Biden did that's yet another win that the Dems handed to Trump. There should've been a primary, Biden shouldn't have run again, they should listen to their base instead of capitulating to the right, stop listening to their top donors and become unapologetically pro worker! Fight and win, Democrats, get your sh!t together

Joe was a corrupt, career politician that had to pardon multiple immediate family members because of the millions in illicit money Hunter dispersed among them. Joe is the dems version of Nixon leaving office in disgrace.

The legacy of Joe Biden can best be described as: Half measures doom good people.

The response to the attempted overthrow of our government was to go after the obvious stooges, but not the mastermind.

The response to Trump pulling us out of Afghanistan was to do so in a balfhearted way.

The response to Haiti was a halfhearted effort to get a bunch of cops. This failed.

The response to the Israel/Hamas situation was to half way support Israel, even as they did war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The response to housing costs was to prosecute some alleged cartel, but take no further actions to get people a place to live.

The response to living costs out of control was to do nothing.

Biden might not have been at all as bad as Trump 1.0, but he also wasn't good at all. Everything was halfhearted and half done.

I vow to remember Biden's administration as well as he remembers the name of the people he's been bombing, that is to say not at all. President Bobby? Who's that?

Biden understands something important that every President should. It’s not about them. It’s about the future and specifically the future of all Americans. A good person plants trees not for themselves, but so that future generations may rest under the shade they produce. The wealthy had a taste of self enrichment under the the first Trump term; now they know what they can get away with. The majority of Americans are going to be squeezed even more and we will all suffer for it.

But who is paying for tuition forgiveness and child care subsidies? It would be tax payer like me. I paid for my tuition and my child care. I also paid for my home without governmental help? Now I’m being asked to pay for someone else.
