The story is also how "a West Coast album saved an East Coast record label from going bankrupt." Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen credits Warren G's Regulate for saving Def Jam from going under. How G-Funk breathe new life into their catalog with Twinz, Dove Shake, 213, etc. Give Warren G his flowers

I'm not sure if anyone has commented on it yet, the beat and lyrical style was used again by Jadakiss on his Kiss Tha Game Goodbye album in '01 on a track called Kiss Is Spittin' feat Nate Dogg. Possibly Jadakiss' best solo album and one of many good songs on that album

Great everyone got credited and appreciate each other as creative artists. Nothing wrong with taking another artists idea and making it your own. Unless it's like that MC Hammer song…I dunno…just felt it was such a rip off of Rick James…

Fun fact: I was taking summer classes as a high school junior and decided to skip after lunch, then headed to Circuit City and snagged the “Above The Rim” soundtrack on release day, randomly, because it was a Death Row release. That’s where I first heard this track.

The original explicit version have been online in bad quality for 25+ years now.

Warren did a guest appearance on a live show some years ago where he performs the original explicit version.

The reason these songs were sampled without legal ramifications is because the record industry is the same entity & is owned by a single group….Nothing to do with sharing

“Delia’s Gone” was not released as a single.
Garth Brooke’s depicted domestic violence lyrically and visually for his tune “The Thunder Rolls”. It was censored and an entire verse removed even for the album version.
These rappers also make it a part of their daily lives and are not simply telling stories- many are involved in homicides and violent behavior.
What’s with your little pussy “white guilt” BS that you spew in some of your videos?
