How virtual reality tricks your brain
VR doesn’t need to look hyper-realistic for our brains to believe it.
Watching someone play a game in virtual reality is a bit of a surreal experience in itself. They swing their arms around, turn their heads, and twist their bodies reacting to invisible cues all around them. From outside the headset, you might be able to see their experience on a screen. But it’s hard to believe that they could become so immersed in a virtual world that they lose track of reality around them — and yet it happens all the time.
The internet is full of “virtual reality fails” — people falling into walls and crashing through their TVs, much to their families’ disbelief. Virtual reality harnesses our perception in ways video games and other media can’t. Check out the video above to learn more.

Imagine playing one of those highly realistic video games in a VR headset the realistic games exist but I don't know how someone would react to it in vr

It doesnt, Steam shows VR adoption is dropping since Jan. 2022. Only corporations want it to work, but the 70% of population that gets sick in the first 30 minutes say otherwise, and the main issue here is, most people get sick not from the actual motion, but because the VR levels are terribly designed giving everyone vertigo because you "seem" taller than a human being.

i think iam already to exposed to games. tho vr is impressive, i never felt any gut reaction from my brain in moments like the plank experiences, as if what iam seeing first passes a filter that checks "is this a game? yes? ok, then everybody here chill, no reason to push adrenalin or cortisol, its not real" and this makes me sad because i feel like iam missing 50% of the experience
