I worked at Whole Foods in Tustin Ca for years. One night RedFoo walked in with an attractive lady to do some shopping.
He was actually quite friendly and polite. Even though I recognized him from TV, I had never heard his music. On the flipside, when I worked at a record store, my boss and some coworkers went to a music meet and greet thrown by the record labels. This is when another Motown nepo baby, Rockwell was on the downslide after Somebody's Watching Me fell off the charts and was trying to promote a song that flopped. He had a bodyguard with him.
My boss was an obnoxious, ex jock drunk who had to use the restroom when he was stopped by Rockwell's bodyguard who tried to block the multi stall restroom telling him it was closed. My boss pushed passed the guy and there was Rockwell pushed up against a urinal looking over his shoulder with a surprised look on his face at my boss! We all laughed when he told us what happened. Weird how one nepo baby can be so down to earth and the other acts like an entitled prick.
As for the feud over money and royalties. Berry Gordy was shortchanging his artists for years. So the apple didn't all far from the tree.
