The problem with giving up is that it assumes the world is over, and it isn't. Climate change won't wipe us out, neither will nuclear war. Hell, if we play our cards right, that last one might never even happen. The truth is that assuming the world is ending is "comforting" because it lets you do nothing. But, in reality, there IS a future. And if you're not doing your part to make it better you're being a bit of a bastard, aren't you? It might seem like change doesn't actually happen, but you can't honestly tell me that the average person in the middle ages or industrial revolution had it better than any of us.

The final point I want to make about this is …. It is highly profitable 💵 to sensationalize, ring the fire alarms, and put a magnifying glass to benign issues blowing them out of proportion and making it seem like an existential threat. Everyone benefits once there’s a new fear to sensationalize and make YouTube videos about. People don’t make it every year 🕊️ but the likelihood of the world turning into Shangri-La or the extermination of all of us in a mass extinction event is very slim.

We are always being threatened by the emergence of an “apocalypse”. But the thing is the world isn’t going to “End” anytime soon, we just are placed under the illusion of it ending whenever radical change occurs.
There are individual endings, yes, that ending that occurs when an individual dies. It felt like the end of the world when Kobe Bryant transitioned. But life goes on, the Earth keeps rotating. I’d like to coin the phrase, ‘mini apocalypse’. For instance, the economic travesty brought forth by this new administration. I call the economic turmoil a mini apocalypse because economic uncertainty is just the natural way of life; war and attrition are nothing new. The things we’re experiencing now we’ve been through and survived a million times over. We are a very stubborn and persistent species.
So when people say, “Life as we know it is melting”…. Take it with a grain of salt
We are just reliving the endless loop of death and progression

I know the world sucks, everything the government tells you is a lie, even the food we eat isn’t real. Difference with me is I just push forward, I try to build my empire, people can wish me well but what are wishes in a world that demands action

No Stop it!! Its easy for you all to talk! Life sucks and only gets worse and harder as you get older!! Don't expect for the better cause that's a lie.Things are not the same anymore! There is nothing to move on to. The sooner we leave this pointless reality the better. That when well be set free!

To be honest I truly feel this will be my last year before I find some kind of train track or bridge. I'm more doubtful than ever there is anything in the world to look forward to so unless there is an answer I have no optimism left.

I’ve kid kinda given up on even trying to change the world and just letting it happen because I know that I don’t have the power in order to change the world.

I'm 23 years old. And I am genuinely terrified of my own generation. I watch in what feels like helplessness as democracy and everything our forebears fought for is slowly eroded away by so called "activists" and foreign agents who serve tyrannical governments. I watch in horror as my generation cheers on Stalin or Hitler or whatever dictator they've heard nothing but praise for in their echo chambers. All because someone spoke the magic words of: "Capitalism, corporations, Americabad." I watch as my own nation's and broader civilization's history is rewritten. We're now told that we're evil and the only way forwards is to be angry and hurt people. Betray everything we should be standing for. And again, there's nothing I can do but scream and divide people more. Heck, I doubt there's even a lot of people in this comments section that see the world like I do.

Might as well have just said that the solution was optimism. Whatever good difference you make is a drop in an ocean. Whatever "meaningful" positive change someone makes can and will be undone sooner or later. The first solution is "pretend you can change humanity".
A reporter writes about a cartel and her body is found the next day. Nothing functions without rules, but having rules means cruelty wins by default, because only one side can break it and not suffer for it. "Be loud" just means "make yourself a target".
Overall, the only good advice I see in this video is to not use Twitter. The rest is pointless platitudes about making the world a better place. Slavery never ended, it just became more discreet. The world is run by pedophiles. Racism still runs rampant, as it always has. The average person is the one who goes to a 9 to 5 cheats on their partner before going home. All the people who have suffered and died for a cause led to this disgrace of a world.
So yeah, uhu, fight the power, kindness is the the real punk rock, all that. But do acknowledge that it's fiction.

This advice greatly overestimates how many like-minded people there are around some folks. Talking to indoctrinated morons only proves you're slowly going mad alone, and no amount of internet conversations with sane people can balance out talks with IRL people around you. If those people are disproportionately fine with all that's going on, you are truly alone. You are truly helpless. You are truly powerless.
What's the point in any of this if no good future is possible while your own countdy is still standing? You're not gonna see any of it. You're dead meat walking, babbling what 99% of people in your life see as nonsense.
This video really helped me see that my personal situation is truly hopeless. I'd say I can only hope that people around the world can pull humanity out of this death spiral, but what's the point if I'm not gonna be there?
