I have a signature trick related to cell phone carriers:
I live in the most remote area in Texas and we only have one cell phone tower that goes out every time the wind blows. The deal is they won't send anyone to repair it until a certain number of customers complain (1-2hr process). So since the tower is actually on our Ranch I now call instead of reporting the outage I asked them if those wires are supposed to be swinging around and sparking a bunch. And then I provide them with the comfort of knowing that land prices are down and a million acre range fire is much cheaper than a similar fire in an urban environment.

You give them easy win, they'll give you an easy win!

I worked for months in a call-center, first in customer service and then as technical support for an ISP.
All i heard all day every day was "Sell more, or you'll get fired."
    I was never in sales.

WTF this is exactly what you have to do in Canada to get a better plan!! Right down to demanding to go to retention services, and the lady has an Aussie accent!!

This sounds identical to some of the people I've had call in (not Rogers). Give me more and I want to pay less. I want to leave. "Okay, I've disconnected your account. Anything else?"

Imagine walking into Walmart and DEMANDING to pay half cost for a gallon of milk because you've been a LOYAL customer for X years. The cashier is going to look at you like you're on drugs.

My new goal is to watch all your videos and put this comment in each of them: "It's OK to talk to yourself and it's OK to answer. Just don't interrupt." Do we have a deal? I'll make an exception. You CAN interrupt.

LOL, funny because it's close to being true only it would take a couple hours being on line with them where upon your battery dies right before you get resolution. I worked 2 years at a call center for Rogers…..When they say they are getting a supervisor they are really just swapping calls with coworkers most of the time. I use to take the most irate people and got them sorted out most of the time, I found if you let them rant they tire themselves out and calm down in the end. Some people would hang up at the first curse word which was allowed as per company policy but I could handle them easily. Their are special plans only retention has access to but sometimes their are consequences with these plans they never tell you about. Great video Julie…..Shows the level of frustration people have very well in such a short video.

This is so true that it hurts. Seriously one of my blind rage pet peeves. Julie, you are too inside of my head for my liking…and I'm a fellow Torontonian. You are a truly amazing, hilarious person and keeping me semi-sane during 2020!

“I want unlimited data. My friends says he get it for 40 bucks a month and that’s what I want!” I was literally crying. This is a word-for-word excerpt from my life, complete with the aforementioned friend, who by the way coaches you on the whole thing. Where do you think she got the Post-It Notes from?
