The Simpson knew what was going to happen because the creators are in a loop that regular people aren’t. Imagine being in a family with a messed up history and telling that story as a joke before it gets uncovered and proven true. That’s the Simpsons future vision, they just know before us thanks to being in “the family.”

Regarding the mass of the Higgs boson, the writers for the simpsons have said that even as close as it seems, it’s really quite far off. It was just supposed to appear realistic enough

The future predicting quote which came to my mind was from the episode where Bart and Lisa join a youth boot camp “The Secret War of Lisa Simpson.”

At the graduation ceremony the Commandant says:

"The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots." He adds that the duty of people is "To build and maintain those robots."

This may not have been too hard to predict back then, but the defense of their country by Ukraine demonstrates how true this quote is becoming.

The Simpsons doesn't predict anything. The Simpsons makes a joke about the stupidest possible outcome and then the US is such an insane place that they prove the Simpsons right.

Yeah, so I was watching an earlier Simpsons episode (before season 9 probably) and Bart wrote on the chalkboard "Just because the president did it doesn't mean I can." Yeah..so….um…true
