While in the past the job of passing on necessary life skills, history and information was a collective effort, today, all of that power has been given to commercial media. In the words of George Gerbner, “Commercial media has eclipsed religion, art, oral traditions and the family as the great storytelling engine of our time. And whoever tells the stories of culture gets to govern human behavior.”
And therein lies the biggest problem with commercial storytelling. Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, all the different news apps and websites, how many times do we check the news on our phones every day? In the past, it took weeks, months or even years to hear bad news from the other side of the world. But today, we have everything at our fingertips. Wars, riots, chaos, scandals, the news feels inescapable.

I've found that not having a television has been pretty beneficial to me, in general. Are there other stressors in my life? Of course! I think that's the point, tho… Realizing that I'm in full control of what I'm consuming. If I want to take a month-long break from social media, I do it. If I don't want to stay glued to a 24-hr news cycle? I won't… I'M in control. WE'RE in control of what we consume.
Remember what's been said: this a war for our ATTENTION, folks. If we stop giving them what they want, they'll have no choice but to switch it up.

Yes, media is a pen for us pigs . Everyone is quitting news and social media you have foreign and bots cintrolling comments and agendas. Comments that persuade us and lore ys to belueve it is your neighbors, your co workers when i. Reality it is ppl acting as moles and trolls to mislead and rip apart our union.

You don't need news to know that tiktok is so popular. Short form brainless creatively bankrupt untalented zero value trash is what most people in the world care about. Is anyone with a brain and intelligent supposed to be happy bout that news?
Everytime I get in my car and drive, I see people tailgating in heavy traffic…braking every 4/5 seconds……….just to tailgate again….no one but me and maybe a few others cruise matching speeds at a safe distance and rarely braking…getting to the same destination in the same amount of time and safer…nope….just try to get around me just to slam their brakes again and tailgate the car in front of me……
Most people are so stupid, uninteresting, can't think or plan ahead more then 5 seconds…..waste money on the most useless nonsense…….
None of this involves news….just observations….and yes it's depressing……..the stupidity of most people is depressing. Having a guy flip me off because I wasn't going 60 mph to a red light 100 yards in front of me and slaming my brakes like he did…….he doesn't even drive faster….he just doesn't think or see ahead beyond a car length…..like most drivers…..
Being surrounded by low iq sheep…..who think I'm the idiot because I don't rush to red-light and I cruise instead of tailgating and gasbrakegasbrakegasbrake…..they literally pass me or look at me like I'm the idiot…….because they all drive that stupid…….I'm the odd duck not wasting gas, brake pads, and risking accidents and death for absolutely no reason(they arent even driving faster then me 90% of the time….)
It's depressing knowing everyone is brainless sheep and hates those that don't follow all the other braindead sheep. Even though my way of driving is more efficient, saves money, safer, and gets there in the same amount of time…….nope….they honk cuz I'm not tailgating……I'm not being as stupid and sheeplike as them and that makes them so mad…..

lol we've had the answer to this q many times over the past century, still seeing it here is kind of dumb and makes me lose respect for your channel, but oh well – happiness achieved by income tapers off after around 70k usd, depending on where you are and your costs of living – so nice question, very important question, I'm happy a channel of your size has helped the world to learn this important information

That is why, to avoid being mislead, do not take everything for granted. No harm in being skeptical or at least seeking further conformation to something. Some claims no doubt deserve to be taken with a grain of salt instantly. Unfortunately a good portion of the population does not do this frequently.
Also it is no secret the media divulged mainly bad. It is often more interesting. So no surprise they would focus mainly on so. But there is plenty of good in the world too. We are often just utterly aware of countless instances that would restore our faith in humanity. But it does transpire nonetheless

I stopped all kinds of social media platforms from 2018 to late 2022 except INSTAGRAM, PINTEREST (As I am a photographer, digital graphic design and content creator and illustrators) and YOUTUBE (As the only medium of entertainment I have as I stopped watching TV content from half of a decade. Most importantly, YouTube is best for entertainment which I can customize and curate my watch lists as per my taste).
Apart from these 3 platforms (Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube), I was completely detached from all types of social media platforms. Even INSTAGRAM is only used less frequently and only when necessary.
I CAN STRONGLY SAY, IT DIMINISHED MY NEGATIVITY, ANXIETY, PESSIMISM, USELESS NON-PRODUCTIVITY, PROCASTINATION, FEAR, STRESS AND HIGH ALERTNESS AND UNNECESSARY THOUTHTS OCCUPIED MIND SPACE MOST PART OF MY MIND. IT HAS PROVEN, I BECOME MORE OPTIMISTIC, SELF DEVELOPMENT FOCUSED, STRESS ANXIETY FREE MIND, PRODUCTIVE, CONSCIOUSLY ACT ON SITUATION, MORE SOCIALIZED AMD PRACTICALLY COMMUNICATIVE WITH MY NETWORKS WHICH IS MOST INEVITABLE PART OF DETOXIFICATION OF SOCIAL MEDIA.
