How “Picaresque” by The Decemberists Made History Cool
By the time The Decemberists released “Picaresque” in 2005, frontman Colin Meloy had been honing his narrative, storytelling style of songwriting for more than half a decade. Despite having dabbled in the theatrical side of indie rock with both Castaways & Cutouts and Her Majesty, Picaresque brought it to a whole new level. This is the story of that album, and how The Decemberists made history cool.

I love this album! My introduction to The Decemberists. The Engine Driver into On the bus mall has to be one of the greatest sequences on an album. The whole record is perfect. More Decemberists please! Really enjoy your videos, greetings from Melbourne Australia.

Another great band, I used to listen to them with my friend Franky while we'd drink and get stoned. We even would bust out our instruments and play along.
