#gershwin & #vivaldi: I actually think that both examples do not catch summer "at its best". For me fall is having a look around the corner…
Besides that: Thank you @diggingthegreats for digging my favorite summer song. I'm an old, white dude like you, but I love old school hip hop – tribe, roots, digable planets, de la soul ! But still, nothing comes close to jazzy jeff's and fresh prince's cool, laid back tempo ("so everybody sees you") and lyrics. I really feel his missing his home…!

"Summer Time" isn't just a Philly block party …. barbecue @ the Fairmount Park Plateau & radio rotation classic…..but as a Philadelphian myself…. everything he said in that song we seen it & we lived it…"Hustle To The Mall Get A New Pair Sneaks"….we would downtown to cop a new pair of footwear for the spring season …"She Turn Around To See Who You Beepin' At" yup …we can be in your man's whip driving thru the blocks 2 miles an hour blasting summer bangers when we seen a fly girl we would beep the horn to get her attention…..That song solidified 90's Philly summers…..that's why i love this song….because we lived it….
