Hello. Great videos! Big fan of the Drumeo site and program and videos. I'm not even a drummer. It's just all very cool to watch and listen to.
In this particular video, I was waiting for Mr. Moore to explain his procedure for learning the tune. What was his mindset each step of the way? What was he hearing as "good" and "not right"? What parts of the song were difficult to play and why? That kind of stuff. However, …. it was nice to enjoy the performance! Obviously, Mr. Stanton Moore is a prime, Number 1, excellent professional talented musician. He was right on top of the song right away. Very short learning curve. So, how did he do what he did? Are there certain patterns or segments that are anticipated? Great work, Mr. Moore! Excellent site Drumeo!

Maybe it's the faces or maybe it's the little swing on the beat but this made me think it'd be super cool to get Patrick Wilson from Weezer in the studio! Feel like he's an underrated drummer with some really iconic moments through Weezer's 30 years as a band

Great cover, but he just doesn’t have the feel of AVH.. it needs that shuffle feel. He is just a little too stiff in my opinion but that is being picky and he did a great job!

Internet gods at work. I've loved listening and playing this song on the kit for over 30 years and commented on a YT guy covering this a few years ago, saying it's an AVH gem that has flown under the radar. Seeing it on a channel of this stature with a drummer of this caliber is SO satisfying. Great job all around!

Hearing Van Halen from the beginning and playing in a jazz band and concert band in the 70s, THIS song always stood out because it's driven by Alex.
Eddie was what captured me with the band, but I recognized the jazz play on this from the start. I still play this song to follow the drums. Alex was a beast. Great video.

Absolutely insane drumming! I've played guitar for over forty years and Van Halen was of course a huge influence. As I become more and more interested in playing drums, I can now fully appreciate how fantastic Alex's playing was/is and how awesome this cover is!!!Nuts!

That’s a tough one, got most of the way through the video. He was just missing way too much for me. So it wasn’t fun to watch.

We play this in my Van Halen tribute band. I watched his first three attempts. Pretty good, probably would just another week and he would have it down pretty well. I mean, well enough to play with guys that know the song, and wouldn’t be thrown off by so many mistakes/differences from the way he was playing it.

I’ve been through a lot of drummers, and every spot in this band is tough. I’ve tried different bass players, and singers. Van Halen is just one of those bands that each spot is almost impossible to really nail. So it almost turns into a lifetime endeavor, of deep dives every five or 10 years. And still picking up little nuances that were missed through the years before. And that’s the fun challenge of it. 😝🤘🏻💯🎸
