Facebook just announced 8 billion video views per day. This number is made out of lies, cheating and worst of all: theft. All of this is wildly known but the media giant Facebook is pretending everything is fine, while damaging independent creators in the process. How does this work?

what's baffling is it seems people don't even care about content creators, they just watch for their personal benefit. simply, that's how the power of user consumption overstates those with actual efforts to show. often the same reason why you would see some (i'm certain majority of are kids) relay on pirated content.

It's concerning that numerous apps are engaging in this behaviour, not just Facebook. I'm familiar with another app from a different country that also does this. I came across a Kurzgesagt video on that app one day, but the content creator didn't give any credit to Kurzgesagt. And there are more similar activities of users stealing all kinds of videos. Thankfully, the users were reported afterward.
