there is a Russian singer Diana Ankudinova who does the vocals better than the original Loire Cotler … without voice processing

Did not understood the unusual Loire Cotler singing…. this is Indian drum rhythm (bol of tabla and pakhwaj). As an Indian classical dancer, we are used to dance on those rhythms. A tablist might be able to explain it better. I am rather disappointed by the artists or musicians… they should learn a bit more about cultural appropriation. I mean learning new culture is beautiful. But mentioning the roots also important instead of promoting as if it is her own creation.

The music that the lady sings, in a percussion manner – is the way beats are spoken out formally in the Indian classical system for the tabla instrument. That's the source of the sound.

Each movie has a history, a mood, an ambient, some weather matterings… Zimmer is the best in identify each detail when composing for movies. I would put Junkie XL as his sucessor.

The sound/rhythmic sound the vocalist sings sounds very similar to Indian Classical dance notes (Bharatanaatyam/Kuchipudi). Also, the way she moves her fingers during the signing is also very typical for the same dance form

Well I liked Hans Zimmer but creating that "voice/chant" and calling it original while it's literally mimicking mongolian throat singing or 7:15, the lady is just literally singing classic indian rhythm. hmmm

This video is arguably the best piece of marketing for the Dune films, and it completely turned my opinion around. I must confess: the official trailers didn't impress me and almost made me pass on the movie entirely. However, listening to Hans Zimmer talk about his sonic world-building and the philosophy behind the score, including the invention of new instruments to create an alien soundscape, was the actual trailer I needed. This deep dive into the craft and vision is what convinced me to watch Dune: Part One and Part Two. I am so incredibly glad I did; they are now two of the best cinematic experiences I have ever had. The music is truly magnificent and the soul of Arrakis. Thank you for this essential and inspiring insight!
