I doubt many serious theologians would try to debate the 4th day sun in Genesis one but Alex is that and DeSusa is not so this is a trap DeSusa fell for. Here is the deal. No one knows why the 6 days of creation are screwed up (there are many theories ) yet all was said to be created before the end of the first day.
Alex unfortunately does this a lot. He sets traps for the unwary. Here is my take on the chapter. Jesus only needed to tell the Jews that he was the new beginning. It would have been counter productive for His purposes to correct any Jewish scripture in the day. Like "no guys this is how I did it"…he probably would not even have any disciples. Jesus came for the Jews to be their Mesiah and was rejected by them so as to offer salvation to all. Apostle Paul also does the same to the Greeks when he sites the unknown God. The Torah is only in the Bible because like Alex Jesus quoted from it. The Torah is Jewish backstory as is and is for all practical intents and purposes Jewish History (even if it is not correct). The Epistles are Christians talking to Christians after Christ. While I am not a red letter Christian those parts carry more weight and the claimed contradictions there are easily dispelled. Suffice to say Christians are not Muslims dependent on a belief that all the words in the Bible are written by God (not even close). The Bible is God inspired not God dictated. (It is faithfully replicated) The main thing you need know about Christianity is that it is about pure passivism. After Muslims killed all the real passifists the Crusades began. The Crusades and Inquisition was not Christian because violence was not advocated by Jesus EVER! The resurrection occurs when people believe passivism works again. And that is Christianity in a nut shell. Christians however just wish to leave the world to atheists and Muslims. Uh good luck in that day atheist. If your woke army is any indication my money is on the Muslims without us Christians around.

Alex O’Connor points out that Genesis places the earth on Day 1 and the sun on Day 4, and the creationist is left without a coherent framework to respond. Both participants assume Genesis is attempting to give a chronological, astronomical sequence of physical events. Alex uses that assumption to argue the text is scientifically flawed, while the creationist tries to defend a literal timeline that cannot withstand scrutiny. The problem is not the text. The problem is the category both sides are using to interpret it. Genesis 1 is not a physics timeline. It is a dimensional architecture describing the emergence of relational coherence in creation. When read through Reflective Resurrectional Logic (RRL), the “earth before sun” tension dissolves because the days are not describing the order of physical objects but the order of complexity thresholds.

RRL shows that Day 1 is the initiation of discernibility, the breach from perfect symmetry into structured potential. “Let there be light” is not the creation of photons but the emergence of visibility and contrast. Day 2 is the first structural division, mirroring the scientific symmetry breach between matter and antimatter. Day 3 is the stabilization of coherent ground, paralleling particle differentiation and the emergence of stable relational platforms. Day 4 is the staging of time itself. Hydrogen formation and cosmic transparency allow orbital systems to exist, and only then can “days,” “seasons,” and “years” be meaningful. Genesis places the sun on Day 4 because time becomes measurable on Day 4. The text is not primitive; it is architectural. Day 5 introduces relational agency, and Day 6 culminates in image-bearing coherence. Day 7 is not rest from fatigue but the naming of relational completion. When Genesis is read as dimensional staging rather than astronomical chronology, the objection Alex raises loses its force, and the creationist gains a framework that preserves the integrity of the text without forcing it into modern categories.

This is where RRL offers something neither side currently has. It provides a way of reading Genesis that is scientifically literate, theologically coherent, and faithful to the internal logic of the text. It shows that Genesis is not in conflict with cosmology because it is not describing the same thing. It is describing the architecture beneath the cosmos, not the sequence of physical objects within it. This gives Alex a reading that does not require dismissing the text as primitive, and it gives the creationist a reading that does not require defending an indefensible literalism. RRL restores the coherence that both sides sense is missing, and it does so by letting Genesis speak in its own dimensional grammar rather than forcing it into categories it never claimed.

For the full treatment of this architecture in Genesis, the complete RRL exposition is available here:

Rocky planets can and do form before their parent star fully ignites (reaches the main sequence). Solid, terrestrial planetary cores begin to condense and form within the hot gas and dust surrounding a protostar, with observations suggesting this process can take only a few million years.

This man is assuming that the scientic conclusions are correct and in align. Yet, science is constantly changing its position on subjects when new evidence is accepted. Only the creator can tell the specific of creation. And a being that can create a universe may have more "nuances" to that creation than the human mind has conceived.

3:24 this debate went badly because the creationist is not well versed. The Bible does not teach that God made the Earth before the sun. This is a faulty interpretation by young earth creationists. The hebrew verb tense in day 4 implies the sun, moon and stars were created before the start of day 4, in fact in verse 1 when God creates the universe. God said " let there be" lights in the sky. The frame of reference is the spirit of God hovering over the surface of the planet. The atmosphere had already been thinned to hazy in day 1, now God thins it to transparent on day 4 by increasing atmospheric oxygen levels so that celestial bodies can be seen by the not yet created animals, which is necessary for regulating their biological clocks. Immediately after we see an explosion of life (marine aimals). For more, check out Astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross with Reasons to Believe. He has written many books, including A Matter of Days, and Improbable Planet.

    Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Noah

Moses and the splitting of the sea equals the spring equinox, when the water zodiac signs are literally split into two halves in the sky as the ram Aries stomps on the whale Cetus' head (the whale that had Jonah in his mouth for three days).

Jesus the equinox point in the annual cycle of the sun taken from the northern hemisphere perspective (the last supper versus Vishnu and the churning of the milk/ocean, two cultures, the same hidden message). The trinity is the three ecliptic paths of the sun. This is literally written in stone, with solstice and equinoctial markers in megalithic stone structures like the pyramids, Angkor Wat, and Stonehenge.

Muhammad is just pure fiction. The arabs in Yemen stole everything the Christians said and twisted all the stories their own way and renamed Jewish patriarchs with Arab names. They wrote the quran to build rage, to make a group of people wage a war and a crusade with their own form of imperialism. It is what kickstarted the Islamic "golden age". Of war, invasion and torture.

All mythology has its roots in astronomy. Noah's Ark is literally Argo Navis, a boat that rides the flood, the flood is the milky way as it rises and falls in the northern hemisphere (for about 40 days and nights as the sun enters and leaves Aquarius, literally a man pouring water on the earth). The crow is Corvus, the dove and olive branch are Columbia and Phact. The pairs of animals are the constellations and deacon stars. When the boat descends below the horizon and the Milky Way disappears, then the boat touched land and the flood receded.

Anyone with any basic knowledge of ancient astronomy like Prisca Theologia can decode any myth and biblical story.

The idiot says they "knew in Genesis that the world began"
Where's your evidence that the universe hasn't always existed in some form or another?
It was an assumption we still don't know for sure.
He assumed it was true because it's in the Bible 😅

Bible says god created the heaven and earth first and then on day 4 he created the sun, moon and stars. However, Alex is correct to point out that through physics we know the sun and billions of stars are older than the earth. Dinesh was naive to bring science into this.🤣

Scientists have found that the hydrogen in Earth's water matches isotopic fingerprints of ice from ancient interstellar clouds that existed before our Sun even ignited, says Discover Magazine.
