If it was up to me every last soulless modern architect,urban planner,artist and a large percentage of the public would ☠ slowly for what they have done to the world especially america it used to be beautiful it used have culture and I would start with their 👨👩👧👦 first.

i dunno, AI designing buildings might actually be pretty creative. just look at what it comes up with images! sure the new house might have 2 rooms with no doors to access them, a lamp shaped like a 3 fingered hand, and a window on the floor, but at least it will probably look interesting!

What it should mean, to be an architect, in a western sense :
– be a skilled master, in a craft (carpentry, masonry, …). You're allowed to sign and manage constructions for low-tier buildings or -projects.
– going through a master in architcture …
… with the requirtment of having studied a Bachelor in Engineering, Urban Planning or having an Apprenticeship in a Craft
… allows you to sign and manage constructions of larger scales
A good buildings needs presentation, material justice and professional management. The Classic Western School teaches us the basics in good design. Minimalistic architecture is also justified if the quality is successful. Overall the materials and the talents to shape said materials need to have quality.

Toronto used to have beautiful buildings… now everything is “fancy, modern” glass sky-dicks that are extremely cheaply made, but so so expensive to live in. Oh, & it’s all condos—not rental properties, so every unit is bought by rich corporations or individuals from overseas… & they’re all playing slumlord too. So not only are renters paying someone else’s mortgage, the bloated rents are also paying for the rich to live free, while the rest of us starve bc we can’t afford both rent AND food.
I’m disabled on a fixed income. I can’t afford the rent on my tiny ass basement studio in a Victorian era house that is literally rotting & falling apart around me. I’ve been looking for 7yrs… & each year it gets more hopeless bc rents keep climbing, & my income does not. Feels like my only way out is to die, or become homeless (which is just death with extra steps.) Though “luckily” with the minor bit of rent control law that states my slumlord can only up the rent like 1-3% each year… I’m only getting slowly priced out of my home instead of quickly. But any time someone vacates a unit, the landlord can legally reset the rent to however much they can get away with charging (hence why I can’t find a new affordable place… hell, if I left this place, the LL would double the rent overnight) This BS law has incentivized landlords to evict long term tenants, because they’ve been legally bound to inflation level increases only, instead of the crazy inflated prices they could potentially get from a new tenant. They don’t even have to upgrade the unit… just slap on a new coat of paint & call it “newly renovated”
We need a revolution. Housing is a basic human right, & shouldn’t be a commodity the rich can use to build equity on the backs of the working class & poor.
But with the world yet again sliding into fascism… I doubt I’ll live to see the day where the people will truly be free😭

Going from a beautiful (yes it was cookie cutter but it was one of the early days of copy paste) suburban house that had 2 yards and a homey feel to it, to a brand new modern copy and paste house (that my parents wanted because family is in another state ggrrrrrrrrrrr) was the worst thing I've ever done, and I actually really despise the house they bought, sure it has a pool but it literally lacks soul and looks exactly the same as their neighbors houses. It's depressing to stay over because the walls are so thin and it's like, 4 feet from the road I fear someone going through their guest rooms late at night

In Bulgaria those block buildings were cheap to make and fast to build(add a general sprinkle of stealing materials and using construction junk as insulation and older pipes) and you have the cccr building blocks

I'd like to see a mix of Roman and Deco architecture, I think it could be really neat if executed properly.
