Horrors on the North Korean Internet

Farrell McGuire | May 11, 2026

No country piques curiosity quite like North Korea. It’s seclusive and closed off nature leads people to make all sorts of assumptions about what’s actually happening inside the country, like the fact that they don’t have internet… something that isn’t true. North Korea does have internet access, and today, we’re gonna explore some of the bizarre things they do with it.

Western sanctions? Western genocide still today commited in the DPRK.

Why would it be necessary to show all this stuff off? Because our propaganda tells us always, that there is no food, no fun, no life to live there.

To be fair to North Korea, our government propaganda has become exactly as truthful as theirs. The idea of integrity in the USA has fallen into a black hole and I'm willing to bet that the only reason we haven't started using public executions against "traitors to our glorious leader" is because they're too busy to think about it at the moment. Give them a day of boredom and they'll have it.

When I visited north Korea I was shown around several class rooms and one of the rooms had about 200 computers and it just felt weird
When I asked to have a look they turned the screens off
Then I was asked to do a little speech 😅

I'd have to assume they show off the stores and what not because the DPRK government is aware of how the rest of the world knows that's not true. So they try to present an image counter to that.

Only thing that makes sense to me.

“Not because we don’t yet understand it but because our active models rule out the possibility of this sort of thing” that literally just means we don’t understand it yet twin that’s how we write equations for the universe we constantly have to include new mechanics that we discover into the existing framework
