I talked to Henry when Flag rolled thru Columbus. He stopped into the Store I was working Magnolia Thunderpussy ( still active!) we talked about Jimi Hendrix and Devo. Greg Ginn came in in a bit a bit and bought some metal cassettes, I asked him how things were and he said," ….people just want to stay up and party….we have to get up and drive".

I bought a misfits box set in the 90's and there was a little biography In it with a bunch of pics… anyway they speak on a time chasing motley Crue down sunset strip sometime in the early 80's…

Rollins can be a mixed bag (he's human, we all are mixed bags), but his clear eyed yet fueled-by-fandom contribution to promoting the legacies of great artists has added a lot to punk and rock culture. Plus he's cool enough to, back in the day anyway, directly answer fan questions sent to him by email. Within 48 hours. What a guy.

Only 26, so I grew up in the pop punk era with Green Day and Blink as my big bands. But as a kid for some reason I remember always loving Motley Crue. The style, the sound, they were the 80s to me, and everyone else just followed. Of course I know musically they aren’t the best, but the guys we’re always my favorite!
