Plus, two more retro headlines you’ll want on your radar: AYANEO says 2026 will bring real improvements to customer support and after-sales service, and Digital Eclipse’s Disney Afternoon Collection has reportedly been rated for Switch and “Switch 2”, which could mean a whole new audience for those cartoon-era classics. 📺🎮

If they're selling a new watch, that probably means the previous watches sold well. I'm pretty positive there'll be people who would buy these, the design is much less on-the-nose and would be much more suitable for people with deeper pockets who want some discretion. This is a category of product where spending hundreds of dollars on a watch is the point, not to have good cost-benefit.

Without the word ATARI printed on it, you would never guess at any connection with Atari consoles. Oh, and it's a silly price. Thanks for the video.

The NTSC color gamut is just the part of the visible light spectrum that was used as a standard for TVs (except for regions that used PAL). Many newer displays can reproduce a broader portion of that spectrum. The reason for them to point out that their screen displays a broader range than NTSC is that their screen should accurately reproduce the colors in retro games that were primarily made for NTSC standard displays.

They want that much for a watch that doesn't even have hash marks for the hours? It's more a novelty item than a functional timepiece. I'd sooner buy one of the Atari My Play watches that at least have smart functions, and you can play games on them, and they cost a lot less. The default face on those at least has the ring from the 2600 joystick, which has clear markings for 3, 6, 9 and 12.

420 for a digital watch that plays Atari 2600 games from what 45 years ago almost 50 years ago and they want $420 are they smoking crack
I will admit I like the design I think they're awesome colors but nowhere worth $420!

That watch fails to to impress, we get a tiny bit of wood grain the black ridged watch face and the orange joystick ring and while those are a good start the hands could have been styled after the console switches. For that price point it should at least come with a game possibly Warlords with the crown acting as the control.
A more interesting watch would be a reproduction of the Nelsonic Pac-Man watch that still seems to go for decent money even for broken ones on ebay. The modern one could have 2 modes original LCD game or the real game.

Those watches look good but waaaay out of my league, as I am still contemplating the My Play Atari 2600 Watch at $80 🤣👊🏻🕹️📺😎
Thanks for another GREAT episode George

I like the look of that watch but like you, it's something I can't afford right now. That Disney Digital Eclipse looks pretty neat, I hope that happens. Just some wistful thinking on my part, but I would love it if Digital Eclipse could do a Lucas Arts collection someday. Thanks for all you do George!

Great vid! Here's to hoping Ayaneo makes good on these promises. Im one of the crowdfunding backers of their product (Pocket Fit) and have been waiting since October to receive the unit. Honestly i was very much ok with waiting a while, however, they ended up shipping many many units to retailers BEFORE individuals like myself who paid them in advance to support them. Absolutely dissapointing. And considering some of the bigger retro review channels have been very open about this, its gotta impact them accordingly.

It's wild that Digital Eclipse has been around for so long. I had the Williams Arcade Classics PC release. It only had six games but it came with loads of behind the scenes interviews on full motion video.
