Guns N’ Roses: The Secret Payout…FOR BAD ACNE!?!?!

full in bloom | June 12, 2026

In the upcoming interview, George Patience dives into some previously untold stories from the ’80s rock scene. Known for writing the cult classic “I Hate Christmas,” George was best friends with Ozzy Osbourne/Great White/W.A.S.P. bassist Don Costa and even dated Don’s sister Sara back in the day. If you’re a subscriber, you might remember my interviews with George & Sara where we dove deep into Don’s mysterious and often tragic life. This time, George offers more insight into Don’s life and opens up about his days hanging out with Tracii Guns while the guitarist was in Guns N’ Roses. What he reveals about Tracii’s exit from the group cracks open a whole new angle on the story.

If Tracii Guns wrote AFD, I wouldn't doubt it. Izzy Stradlin's solo band wasn't that great. And GNR's recent music isn't that great. L.A.Guns latest albums have all been great

    Interesting video.
    I'm skeptical.
It seems to be well known and accepted Izzy wrote a lot of the best Guns songs .
I like Tracy but not a big fan of LA Guns.
If he was able to write Appetite there's nothing LA Guns does that even comes close .
I could see him being bitter after GNR got huge and saying "yeah i wrote all that " but who knows.
If there was a pay out , that really tells you something though.

George the accordion playing phenom. He wrote some amazing shit when he was 8. Comin up on Zeppelin and the Stones and the other greats like Axl and Tracii. No Idea why he isnt as well known now.
" Welcome to the toilet" was incredible, I wish the interviewer didn't interrupt him.

Myah, I was thinking it was Izzy writing all the songs because they sounded so different after he left, but then Izzy's own band sounds different again. The story adds up.
I saw Tracii play with Brides of Destruction, the band he had with Nikki Sixx, before Motley Crue got back together and started touring again. (early 2000s)

But Hollywood Rose were playing those songs with Izzy, hmmm….

Sounds like a cry baby. All those opinions and emotions aren’t what gets you to the top. Clearly axl and izzy did something right cus it worked..

A lot of what George says does not add up.
Why didn't Traci have a million hits with LA Guns if he could write that well? Use Your Illusion I & II weren't great, but it makes sense as Izzy being the main A4D writer, then UYI double albums.
That's just one question among many that I have.

3:20 I heard the name came from the two names for an independent label "Guns n' Roses. 5:55, I also heard Rob left 1st because his girlfriend gave him an ultimatum, Tracii left because 1. Axl yelled at him for not putting his friend on a gig guestlist, it was un-fun and he didn't go to a rehearsal, so Slash was called, then he quit

This is kind of an overreach. Tracii Guns absolutely had to have wrote big chunks of the rhythm guitar parts with Izzy, just because they were writing it before Slash even joined. BUT, Axl's lyrics all the way, and some songs absolutely were from Road Crew- like Rocket Queen for example. Nightrain was written after Slash and Steven were in, about the group's constant drinking of cheap ass nightrain wine. My Michelle was definitely after Slash, as was Out To Get Me. And for the rest, they still didn't sound like they did before the more Bluesy shift.
