Greg Farley, “Wrong Side” // GemsOnVHS™
Y’all know I only bring the realness to the table. Today we’re breaking bread with Greg Farley (& his badass band), whom you might recognize as the fiddle player from the Felice Brothers. Farley is real as they come, enthusiastic and all smiles, no pretentiousness, no bullshit. I’d noticed the shirt he was selling on his website read “Greg Farley – songs, fiddle, guitar, woodworking, carpentry, treework”. Nothing but respect for my hustlers out there who don’t mind a hard days work. It’s a lot of what I love about folk music; an ear close to the street, real life people, no showbiz, no smoke, no effects. Just the song and the story.
He reminds me a bit of Springsteen, and i’m sure he’ll be just as polarizing as the Boss is. I don’t give a damn though – I knew i’d like Greg Farley the moment he told me his dad was a truck driver just like mine!

One single listen and this was in my head… I walked away and just had that shuffle stuck deep… Nice and catchy..
And how cool to see and hear the old 1960's Truetone by Kay – Speed Demon K573 being played… sweet as.

Thanks Tony. You're the man for sharing this wonderful music. You are giving our generation a counterculture so rich and full of American/folk heritage and culture. You truly are the Alan Lomax of the modern era. I love you and your work man and am so thankful for this. In a world full of bullshit, it's nice to experience realness and pure passion.
