Talk about cheater cheater…..Pete Ricketts wins the Republican vote. Cindy Burbank wins Democrat votes but is stepping down for Don Osborn to step up? So the Independent party isn’t Independent, it’s just another Democratic Party. Isn’t that double dipping? Man, Dems will do anything to win and they win dirty. Republicans have to fight Rino’s and Fake Independents. Talk about a stacked deck.

Again Democrats need the house and at least 52 senators ok not 51. They need 5 Senate seats to stop fretterman Republican ass he can't be trusted y'all he will block them. Get out and vote blue

I donated to Osborn. Twice. Personally I’ve only supported candidates who’ve taken zero billionaire and foreign bribe money. Donated to James Talarico, Graham Platner, Halle Shoffner, Abdul El Sayed, and Rob sands and Bobby La Pin. Even donated to Tom Massie.

You're ignoring Fetterman, who might very well vote for Republican control. They need to win all 3 open seats and flip 5 seats to gain control. With 4 flipping it could be tied. This is why the Texas race is so critical. In essence they need to have both independents win and flip 5 seats to assure control. The reason is that the independents and Fetterman can not be considered reliable consistent votes on many major issues that are likely to arise. You need to focus on places like South Carolina. Texas and Florida to figure out who is likely to have control of the Senate.

If she is going to be forced out by her own party after receiving 100.000 votes then maybe she should run as an independent herself..I will give her 500.000 dollars to run just to stick it to these corporate Dems.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I don't think that the winning dem should drop out of the race because that will give the maggots control if the seated dem steps down. It will be handing the senate to the maggots. 🤷‍♂️

That does not make sense. This guy is either lying or confused about how the Senate works. Either scenario is no bueno. Committee assignments are assigned only through the parties. So perhaps this is a strategy to get through without revealing a candidates true leanings. Democrats are again not learning lessons. Centrist democrats blocked the dismantling of the filibuster and therefore, voting rights and women's healthcare bills were not passed.

After looking it up, I don’t believe you’re correct on your definition of the majority. That is, it’s just a simple majority. In other words, in a 50-49 Senate, if Osborn fails to caucus with either side, Democrats would hold the majority status, including controlling committees and having the Senate majority leader.

I think you know that. I think you maybe just didn’t explain it clearly. I mean, someone needs to be in charge, otherwise it’s pure gridlock. Point is, Dems don’t need to convince Osborn to caucus with them. Republicans do. 50-49 in favor of the Dems gives them majority control. You could say, “but wait, it ISN’T a majority because there are still 100 seats!” Doesn’t matter. All of these things are voted on, like when they vote on rules. If the vote is 50-49, 50 passes.

This is how it works to the best of my understanding. It is plausible that I’ve got it wrong, as perhaps the site from which I got this was considering only a 50-49 Senate, not 50-49-1. (50 is an outright majority of 99.). However, I did try to clarify and verify, and I believe my understanding is correct. So…

I think Dems do not need Osborn to caucus with them. They simply need him to NOT caucus with the GOP. Dems WILL (I believe) control majority status and the committees of the Senate is 50-49-1 with Dems (and Dem aligned independents) holding 50 seats.

This doesn’t make sense. If Dan Osborne is a “plant” and running as a Democrat. Cindy Burbank drops out. Osborne moves up. What makes us think that he will vote Dem. This is a risky move. He the face of Dem and the vote of the GOP.
