In my opinion, Vinnie's guitar work on those demos was better than what he did on the Invasion records. It seems like he was already becoming a shredder, but was not yet at the point where he was obsessed with surpassing Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen.

But he wouldn't sign some paperwork and it screwed Kiiss up because they need to insure their shows or tours(that much money is involved or loaned expecting a big pay day) and if your guitarist breaks his hand or can't do the show/your the band gotta pay it back. And like Vinnie was playing games or maybe Kiss didn't want him as a full member?

FIB is still the best thing on the internet. I’ve never heard anyone with this perspective on the KISS / VV situation. Gene and Paul (especially Paul) have always maintained that they thought Vinnie was suspect from the beginning and that they never liked him or wanted him in the band, despite the obvious chemistry. Once again, another FIB first 🔥
