Finding meaning at the quantum level
Kmele steps inside Fermilab, America’s premiere particle accelerator facility, to find out how the smallest particles in the universe can teach us about its biggest mysteries.

According to Fermilab’s Bonnie Flemming, the pursuit of scientific understanding is “daunting in an inspiring way.” What makes it daunting? The seemingly infinite number of questions, with their potentially inaccessible answers.
In this episode of Dispatches from The Well, host Kmele Foster tours the grounds of America’s legendary particle accelerator to discover how exploring the mysteries at the heart of particle physics help us better understand some of the most profound mysteries of our universe.

About The Well
Do we inhabit a multiverse? Do we have free will? What is love? Is evolution directional? There are no simple answers to life’s biggest questions, and that’s why they’re the questions occupying the world’s brightest minds.
Together, let’s learn from them.

Aren't you all ashamed not to realize that we cannot talk about all the matter in the universe without any link whatsoever to the only entity that supplies 100 % of all the STUFF inside our body that initiate and sustain all our thoughts and, of course all the calculations, THE PLANTS, without the air and food provided by which, none of us could survive even for a single second?
You are (I certainly don't mean any of you personally, but PHYSICISTS per se) wasting your own and other people's time, efforts and funds in a meaningless pursuit to discover matter without first interpreting DIGITS as unique type of particles, the interactions among which are ruled by the only natural LAWS OF MOTION represented by the 4 basic arithmetic operations, calculations inside our body with which influence the air we exhale, to then influence the plants that absorb them to process and subsequently release the air we inhale too.
Thus, if we design our system of particles to represent this cyclic process of REAL LIFE interactions, then all these accelerators become superfluous.
There is no need to waste even a single Dollar for experiments and/or observations (Fermilab, LHC, JWST,…), if we are only prepared to do the above mentioned "particle and their interaction interpretations", to then use the knowledge every lay person possesses about how plants support sustenance of life, to thereafter derive the mathematical model of how particle interactions inside the earth develop PLANTS on its own surface for delivering and sustaining beings here through them.
If you don't agree with this, do explain why.

This is my second time watching an episode of this series. My biggest disappointment is when the interesting questions and conversations are interrupted with narration. I thought the same thing with the Santa Fe institute episode.

“If matter didnt exist we wouldn’t exist. so it kinda has to be true that bcoz we’re in a universe that we’re in, the laws have to allow for us to exist.”

I feel the host cut off the physicist before he had a chance to answer. He was about to give an answer… then the host changed the question. Frustrating host, did not get good answers at all. Leaves it at the surface.

I know it might seem strange, but I feel something spiritual when thinking about quantum physics… We are all these absolutely small particles… And what else?

There is a collective group of families that detoured science for greed and power long ago…2000 plus years ago….Alot of questions could have been answered long ago.. We collectively spend more money on killing each other over differences than anything …..Strange world… But excellent video and earth will force us in only a matter of time to focus on science!

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
my life is really a joke, i have never met someone with great knowledge and interest in physics and i never got the chance to be in a place like this, but it's fine my genius may be going to waste but i will always love knowledge and that's enough for me
