Fall on the Kabetogama Peninsula
Enjoy the various wildlife captured on a trail camera in the middle of the remote Kabetogama Peninsula deep in the center of Voyageurs National Park. All footage is from mid-September 2021 to early December 2021.
This particular camera was intentionally set-up near the border of the Nashata Pack territory and the Shoepack Lake Pack territory in hopes of getting footage of both packs. And it worked! The larger pack in the video (i.e., the pack of 9 wolves) is the Shoepack Lake Pack and the smaller pack of 4-5 is the Nashata Pack.
One little side note: this camera captured more moose on it than any camera we have ever deployed!

I would love to be there but in a way that I would not be in danger of dying. Is there such a way? Maybe in my next life I will come back as a trail cam…

I think the closest I will ever get to comprehending how big a moose is, aside from seeing one in the flesh, is remembering photos of wolves next to people and then comparing the wolves in this video to the moose that walk through.

I feel like I'm watching a scooby doo or keystone cops scene. When the villain is chasing the good guys going through doors and never meeting….

This warms my heart and brings a tear of joy to my eye. What a treat to get to see all these gorgeous animals living their lives without being disturbed- as it should be. I came for the wolves, but I love them all! The wolf running past with their tongue hanging out (1:35) was so cute and funny- I think that was a smile- and something about the wolf sniffing around (0:48) I just found absolutely adorable. Did he/she run off with a leaf in their mouth? Thank you so much for your hard work and for this video!

Many of the animals sense something foreign in the vicinity of the camera. One cannot beat, tame, or fool nature. Amazing footage! Thanks!

The funny thing is that the wolves do see the camera… Smell it too.
They are just staying calm and keep wolfing.

Wow! Such a beautiful group of wolves. Yesterday I was watching a documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnarDfTTIL8) where two professors of the University of Waterloo (Drs. Ms & Mr. Theberge) hypothesized that wolves in Algonquin National Park, Ontario ( I know it is very far from your Voyageurs wolf project, guys) are in fact Red wolves and not gray wolves (genetic evidence they claim to have). I found it fascinating, given the highly controversial status of red wolves in NC-USA. What do you guys think about that?
