Among Latinos this fight was epic. Mexicans were split in terms of who to support. And it happened again when Oscar fought Vargas in 2002.

See that's why I always campained for Oscar De La Hoya to have one more professional boxing match. A tune up fight. To go out with a Win. Because he accomplished this. He can't retire with a bad outing.
